Blue Sky Inn- Complimentary Happy Hour Th-Sun, Veteran owned, Full Breakfast, Best green space, 1 mile from Blue Ridge, Fire Pit

Wasn't really sure when the hubby booked this one. Sometimes these smaller hometown motels aren't as nice as the pics they post. The room was really nice. Bed was super comfy! Things were clean. They did a really great job on the room remodel. The women that checked us in. Was lovely and super nice. We will definitely stay here again.

It was clean, easy to find, reasonably priced and the breakfast was apparently quite good - according to the hubby, as I didn't eat anything. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were responsive to messages. We also always appreciate being able to support veteran-owned businesses.

We found the bed a bit uncomfortable. It was memory foam (which we love), but it was thin. There was no box spring or other support under the mattress - we could feel the bars of the bed frame.

Location. Was only about five minutes from downtown Blue Ridge.

Room immediately smelled of bleach or chlorine upon entering. Floor had mismatched vinyl sections, telling me that some major clean up happened. Floor was bubbled up. Bathroom door had the lock on backwards (you could lock someone in, but couldn't lock from inside). Bed was simply on a rickety steel frame. No box spring. Air conditioner only cooled the front part of the room, didn't reach the bed. WiFi was terrible, constantly going in and out. Rate charged was ~$6 more than the rate I booked on this website. And they falsely accused me of damaging sheets. Refused to tell me what substance was allegedly on the sheets. I asked for a manager to call me, and the best she could do was text. In dispute with bank now. Avoid.
