A lot of bugs, the ac doesn't cooling at all, not very clean the shower and bathroom are outside so be prepare to shower with all kind of animals

This was a really unique accomodation in a great location. Because of its nature as a beach hut, it is fairly basic and you will have a variety of bugs visiting you, but that’s fully what we expected!

Firstly was really bad

Facilities were excellent, the place was spotlessly clean and the host was lovely. Nice quirky little place.

As stated it was a cute native home.

We stayed in Surfshack 1. The owner was absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to reach and trust me we tried and tried and tried. I received a number of emails from the owner through Booking.com. When I tried to return emails they were either returned back to me as undeliverable or unanswered.  There were two contact phone numbers given, neither worked. The local number had no service and the international number was never answered. I called them both and got nothing, my Filipina girlfriend called them both multiple times AND sent text messages and got nothing, the van driver from the airport tried both numbers multiple times and got nothing. The couple staying in Surf shack 2 had the same experience as we spoke with them. They also had no internet and could not reach the owner. Neither of the two shacks had working internet the entire stay and we were never able to resolve this. We wanted to stay in a cute native place and understood that it was native, however internet was EXTREMELY IMPORTANT during my stay as I am a PhD student working on my doctorate. I need to be in contact with my university faculty regularly/daily. I chose the surf shack because the owner boasts about the “great fast internet”. That was the singular selling point for me. I would have been OK with a problem that was fixable, which the owner made impossible to fix by being unreachable . It completely ruined the first day of our four day Siargao stay and even worse placed me in a situation that required to anxiously scramble to get in touch with my university.
