Host & Stay - Queen Square Hideaway

Location was great, liked the layout of the apartment.

Very hot with no opening windows and 1 small fan. The jets in the bath didn't work and water pressure terrible. Wrong code given for entry into apartments and no one answers the phone. Someone was trying to gain entry with the key code early in the morning while we were in bed, there is no chain on the inside of the door. Not very safe.

Having my own space and facilities in a self contained flat.

Bathroom is rather small being under the stairs, it had a dank smell which I assume is the drain or the bath which is one of those spa style but there was black mold. The kitchen was well equipped except there was no kettle and the owners were unable to rectify. The hot water pressure in the shower is quite low so its okay but not great !

Was a little nervous after reading recent reviews but clearly the place has had the damp problem treated so no issues on that front. Clean, easy to access, really comfy bed downstairs. Location could not be better! Host was very responsive and answered all our questions. If you are using the sofa bed the balcony is over the bedroom so you're not in two separate rooms, but it's somewhat private as it's not easy to see between them.

The main problem we had is the sofa bed can't sleep two adults, so one of us ended up sleeping on the sofa cushions on the floor. It's a 1.5x single rather than a double. If we had booked this for 2 or 3 people it would have been a 9 rating, but I don't think it should be advertised as sleeping 4. Would be fine for two children to share. Suspect you can probably do better on the value for money front, particularly if you don't really need the kitchen.

Good location. Beds are very low above the floor level, but comfy.

We came to the championship celebrations in Liverpool. Paid nearly 300 per night for a family stay. The sofa bed was not set up for a stay of 4 people. Furthermore- only 2 towels were supplied. Only 2 rolls of toilet paper wer supplied. Not enough for 4 people's stay over 3 nights. I corresponded with Charlie from afar, through Booking messages system. He/ she was very responsive, but absolutely NOTHING happened. Charlie apologised numerous times, and promised to send maintanence. No additional towels were supplied. We had to share wet towels. Additionally, the door lock's batteries needed replacement, as the door kept notifying us aloud throughout our stay. Charlie's promises were not helpful. Our prayers not to get locked out of the rooms with no sufficient battery to open it were answered. Not sure next visitor will enjoy same luck. In a nutshell- not a business that can support hosting guests.

The smell of damp was sickening. Upon entering we smelt damp and thought to open window it might pass!! Not a chance ! As a family both my partner and child are asthmatic. We had to keep windows wide as they gasped. I contacted the provider constantly as they replied we will get back to you! We never got moved or any forward. They never offered any compensation for the fact we had to leave the apartment all day until bedtime as we couldn’t stick the stench. This has been a health and safety concern and we are back long enough for them to address it and they have not. Avoid

Good location. Good, quick & effective communication with staff when I raised concerns about property. Clean & well equipped kitchen.

- Horrible smell in property. None of the windows could open (staff later replied to me that it posed a "safety risk' to open windows. Therefore, windows were not to be opened). Property smelt of damp/musty. To the extent I actually got a headache as was really thick in the air. Zero air circulation or air conditioning and it was very hot outside which made stay unpleasant as too hot and no windows to open. - Property extremely dusty (see pictures). I was horrified to find thick black dust behind the bed. I raised this with the staff and they got a cleaner to come out and clean it immediately. However, we'd already spent one night in this dirty room with a filthy area behind the bed and this made us extremely uncomfortable as we had our 8 month old with us. Although rectified, I shouldn't have had to raise issue regarding hygiene in the first place. Hoover used by cleaning staff was full of dust and left in the bedroom next to the bed as no where else to store it. Staff could have at least emptied hoover and put in storage cupboard or left elsewhere. - Bathroom smelt awful (sewage/damp) and the bath was filthy (picture doesn't show how bad it was). Mud crumbs all over it as well as mould along the seal and a fingerprint that looked like blood. It looked as if hadn't been cleaned at all prior to our stay. I would have loved to have had a bath but we were even reluctant to shower with how unkempt the bath was. We felt dirty staying in the property, despite kitchen being immaculate. Stains all over cream living room couch and scuffs on walls throughout property. Needs a paint. - Property is actually over 2 levels and has very steep stairs going up to the living room/kitchen area from the bedroom downstairs. I don't know if this is advertised this way (maybe I hadn't noticed). Great room for other people but was awkward for us carrying a baby up and down as stairs very steep. Just be aware it is not accessible friendly at...
