Beach Apartment on Samana Bay with private Pool, AC, Fast Wi-Fi, Walk to Beach & River, Whale Watching, Near Salto El Limón

The apartment is nice and spacious.

The host didn't send me details. The phone number listed on Booking was not in service. With the information on the listing I got a google location on a dirt road and spent an hour asking the locals where "Beach Apartment on Samana Bay" is. I called Booking in the Netherlands, which is completely useless. Finally I spotted a house that looked similar on the next street and went there. It took me a while to convince a neighbor that I had a rental and for her to call the owner's agent. Another half hour and we could enter the apartment. The TV in the living room didn't work. The agent and husband came over and tried in vain to switch batteries. The husband felt invited to sit down and oogle my girl friend. I had to usher them out. I lost the key to the apartment. I texted them that I lost the key but after half an hour waiting we saw the open window on the beach and one entered and opened the door. Suddenly I had 5 people in the apartment berating me, because I entered through a window. They charged me $100. Excessive in my eyes, but ok, a loss is a loss. But the host's agent behaved awful. I had to again usher them all out. They just wanted to tell me again and again and again that climbing through the window was not ok. The next day when we left, the whole family was waiting and didn't let us leave until they inspected the apartment and verified the lost key charge was paid. Oh, I forgot, there is no beach to walk to, there are no restaurants, the pool is not private. It is just Dominican Campo.
