Absolutely nothing

The location is excellent, right in the heart of Polanco—one of the best areas in the city. The towels were very clean and felt new, which I appreciated. The toilet itself was large and comfortable, a small but noticeable positive.

My stay was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price and location in Mexico City. The biggest issue was the lack of real air conditioning. The unit provided appears to be a water-cooled (evaporative) system, not a true AC. These systems add humidity to the air, which makes them ineffective in already humid environments. In April, Mexico City isn’t tropical, but it can still have moderate humidity, especially indoors with poor ventilation—so the room felt clammy and uncomfortable rather than cool. The bathroom had a strong sewer smell. With no window and only an extractor fan, it actually seemed to pull more odor into the room. The solution offered (air freshener) only resulted in a “lavender sewer” smell, which made things worse. Soundproofing is practically nonexistent. The walls are extremely thin—you can clearly hear conversations from the neighboring room. In my case, there was a small child next door, and it felt like they were inside the room. There is no proper front desk—everything is handled via WhatsApp. While this may work for some, it makes resolving issues slower and less effective. The shower temperature was very difficult to control, fluctuating constantly. Surprisingly, there was only one trash can, located in the bathroom. Due to these issues, I only stayed one night and moved to another property for the rest of my stay.

However the picture and the room are completely different. Luckily it was just a quick visit one night in CDMX.

The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. The location is great and is walking distance to many restaurants and cafes. This was our second time staying and will again!
