Absolutely loved our stay at Joao's place. He was kind, friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. His hospitality was unmatched and I would go as far to say that it was the best service levels that we have ever received. The place itself was spacious and clean, with easy access to Ponta Delgada. I have no hesitation in recommending Joao's place to stay if you are visiting Sao Miguel island.

Owner's kindness, attentiveness, and care were evident even before our arrival through our WhatsApp conversations. Upon our arrival, owner Joao picked us up and provided excellent recommendations on places to visit, sights to see, and restaurants to try. After our long journey, we were warmly welcomed with wine, fruit, coffee, and tea. We stayed in a clean, well-maintained, absolutely quiet, and spacious home equipped with everything we needed, and we slept wonderfully in a very comfortable big bed (super important!) Throughout our stay, communication via the app with the owner was smooth and effortless. What more could we ask for? Only please note that if you don't have a car it could take for you some time to reach the center, shops etc. Be also prepared for very changeable weather during a day, strong wind and lot of rain (at least in spring).

We loved everything about this place. We traveled around the world but never encountered hospitality such as Joao and Maria provided. They took their time to pick us up at the airport in the middle of the night and were so helpful through out our stay. Always ready to answer any question we had and gave us great recommendations for places to see, restaurants etc. The apartment was clean and had all amenities needed for our stay. The bed was super comfortable. If we ever come back to this magical island, it will be to this apartment.

Everything about the experience from the owner was great, he met us at the airport to get us to the accommodation and couldn't do enough for us. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends. He was always available for information and not at all hovering around whilst we were there. If I could of given more than 10/10 in the review I would of.

There's nothing to dislike.

Everything was perfect! The airco is a sure must. BBQ and inner courtyard are nicely decorated. The owners are the two most friendly persons in the island :D

A sun lounger to be able to read in the sun would be amazing.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Joao and Maria’s home and it really exceeded our expectations in every way! The moment we stepped out of the airport, Joao was there to welcome us warmly. The apartment looked even better than the photos! It was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The attention to detail was impressive, from the necessities and fruits left for us to the fully equipped kitchen. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Joao & Maria’s exceptional hospitality. They were warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. From providing very helpful tips and recommendations to cleaning the home daily, and even doing our laundry for us! We greatly appreciated their kindness and care. Communication was seamless, and Joao was always responsive and helpful. The location was perfect, close to the attractions on the island and plenty of great food options. If you're looking for a fantastic place to stay, look no further. Book this gem, and you won't regret it!

Lovely large, very clean and cosy appartment which was comfortable to live in and felt like home. But even more wonderful are the owners of that. Amazingly hospitable hosts. I travel a lot but such hospitality is very, very rare. It can be nice, it can be welcoming. But the feeling of being at home doesn't come around very often by travelling. Hier that feeling did not leave us even for a second. Incomparable Joao, who met us at the airport at night because our flight had been delayed for 12 hours. Joao also drove us to the airport at 4am because we had an inconvenient flight by leaving the island as well. When we arrived, there was a bowl of fruit waiting for us in the appartment and groceries on the table, so we didn't have to worry about breakfast the next day. We were given so much helpful pieces of advice on what to visit first on the island and what is obviously to see. I know, it is useless to describe the kindness and friendliness of these hosts, because no words really help. It is like holiday photos - they are beautiful, but none of them capture the beauty of what they depict. Thank you so much Maria and Joe, you brightened our trip just by being youself. The apartment was tidy, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Super comfortable king sized bed. Joao was an exceptionally helpful host; took us from the airport to the car rental office, took us back, and even took us to the airport for our day trip flight to Santa Maria. As a local he has great inside information and advice to offer, always available via WhatsApp . He even helped with the flat tyre our car sustained. Bravo Joao and thanks ++

Really scraping the barrel here, but the freezer compartment of the fridge wasn't terribly good at keeping things frozen !! 21st century problems hey.....

João and Maria are awesome. The best hosts we have ever had, hands down. And we travel a lot. The property was super clean, spacious, very nice, in a peaceful area granting great sleep at night. We missed nothing and were treated like family.

We have been asked this very same question “what didn’t you like?” and “what can we improve?” by the hosts the morning we were leaving. We frankly could not find a single thing to point out.

The location, the facility and the hosts were brilliant.
