The house was very nicely decorated and homey. The front door was easy to use and we felt safe and secure whilst we were in the home which was important to us as we had valuable belongings with us such as laptops phones etc. We didn't however appreciate the fact that we were charged 3x postage fees for the host to post something to us that we had left at the property. The post label that she claimed the cleaner had bought was in her name and she even said over message that she had bought it. I also sent the money to the host and not the cleaner to post the shoes to us. There was also only one fan that didn't work properly and was extremely noisy. We had to use it however, as we had ti have three people sleeping in the tiny master bedroom due to the misleading title that the home slept 6 people and had a sofa bed.

This house definitely doesn't sleep 6. The sofa bed was tiny and didn't have support at the end of it. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable and so it wasn't an option to sleep on there. We ended up having three people sleeping in the double bed. This was after we attempted to attach the single beds together and found that underneath the beds was extremely dusty and grimey and there was even a used cotton pad and the back of an earring. This was ridiculous to us as we paid £315 to stay here of which we assumed included a cleaning fee but it seemed like the house had been tided - not cleaned. Also we were wearing white socks and most of them turned black on the bottom which made us question the cleanliness of the floors. There were opened and used foods in the cupboard which we appreciate the thought of however this is extremely unhygienic as we don't know how long they have been open and who has used them before us. They are perishable goods and so they must be thrown away. However we appreciate the bottle of water being left for us in the fridge as it was a very warm day when we arrived. The back garden was quite unsafe and unkept. I don't believe you can describe a booking as a 'luxury' home but have a back garden with a decking that is rotting and the paint was peeling off of it. There were also exposed nails and so this could be dangerous for people staying with young children. The dining table also only seated 4 of which again makes me question how this house can sleep 6 people as was the case with the outdoor dining area. We did not use the garden at all during our stay due to this as we did not want to bring the furniture inside the house outdoors. The door latch in the secondary bedroom was also broken upon arrival and we took pictures out of fear of losing the £250 security deposit. The paint on the bannister was peeling off and a light bulb upstairs blew during our stay.

"A beautifully furnished and comfortable house, spotlessly clean, very helpful owner. Would definitely recommend."

9.0

Spotlessly clean, looked like has been newly decorated, lovely furnishings. Had everything you needed except for a dishwasher but there wasn’t really room for one in the kitchen. It didn’t bother us as we were only there for a short stay though. Lovely big tv with Sky, so a huge choice of channels which was great as we stayed in one night. We got an Indian takeaway from someone local (delivered) which was delicious! There is a powerful shower which is important to me with long, thick hair! Tea, coffee and condiments provided and a pack of biscuits which was appreciated (-: It was nice to have designated parking around the back. I also liked that you used an electronic key pad with a code to get into the front door but also had keys to get in through the back door and back gate. Not far from Solihull which is a lovely town with good shops and lots of places to eat out. And close to the NEC and BP Pulse Live Arena (which is where we went to a concert). The owner couldn’t have been more helpful, sending messages to check all was ok and helped me with questions about local public transport. Would definitely recommend!

Nothing I didn’t like at all, just a few minor things could’ve made the stay even better like a ‘welcome folder’ with details of things such as local takeaways (although we just used google but perhaps older guests might not be able to) local places of interest, instructions on how to use certain things such as the shower (might seem obvious but I only found out by accident how to use the over-head bit!). Also, I noticed that the front door didn’t close completely if you didn’t pull the handle up (which I don’t need to do with my own front door at home). I noticed because it was a very cold night so I noticed a draught so and closed it properly and then also noticed a couple of clip-locks to pull down for extra security. So perhaps a note by the front door or a message before hand would be good to explain this. A photo,of,the outside of the house added to the listing would also be good to make it easier to find. Hopefully the owner will take this as constructive feedback to help future guests and not as criticism as it was a lovely stay and they were so helpful (-:
