This was, by some considerable margin, the  worst accommodation we have ever encountered either through Booking.com, Airbnb or Vrbro. Some of the more major faults were reported and, to a degree, dealt with next day. These were: - stains and a cigarette burn hole in the double sheet. The sheet was changed. - the blind cord to the front door broke when pulled. This was put back together with duct tape. - a top bracket to the towel rail came apart when a towel was put on the rail. The bottom bracket was already broken. The top bracket was fixed whilst the bottom bracket was held together with a cable tie. - the shower shelf unit collapsed in the middle of the night revealing an area of black mould behind it. The unit was removed and an attempt was made to get rid of the mould. Other areas of concern: - there was no heating in the small bedroom.  An unpainted area on the wall seemed to point to where a heater had previously been fixed. - the heaters in the main bedroom and living room were precariously hooked onto brackets that were bent and damaged. The socket of the extension lead in the bedroom gave off a spark when it was switched off. - signs of mould on the living room curtains - the hob was dirty - the handles to the washbasin cupboard were rusty with a peeling chrome coat - there was a smoke alarm left unfixed on top of a cupboard and without a battery - we were not aware of having to pay extra for electricity until shortly before our visit. An email said that £5 would be left for our use. Two pound coins were left. Because of the lack of heating in the small bedroom we had to resort to using the oven with the door open to heat the living room and small bedroom. I am just about recovered from surgery but I need to sleep sitting up and need to be warm.
