The Spotty - Homely Stay in a Former Inn

Great location nice and quiet but just a 15 minute walk to the town. Spotlessly clean, perfect having all bedrooms en-suite.

That it was very old fashioned,in the centre and parking was good

Only thing is it took a while to warm up

The Spotty, is cosy and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a trip away. Ideally placed at one end of the town of Haltwhistle, with views across the valley.

We wanted a family getaway between Christmas and New Year and that's exactly what we got. Plenty of room, cozy and handy for walks in to town. The log burner was very welcome for family movie and games nights in. We liked that there was space for us all to sit together and eat. We liked that each bedroom had an en suite. Dog friendly for those with pets. We really appreciated the items left by the host, such as milk, biscuits, wine... the little gift for New Year was a very nice touch.

Everything about this property was excellent. All our party were of the same opinion. The provisions provided for our arrival were much appreciated. Everything needed was there eg. dishwasher tabs, cleaning products. We loved the log burning stove in the lounge. We would definitely stay here again.

Nothing, it was spot on.

The cottage was very well equipped (full sized kitchen, huge fridge, lots of appliances) and well thought out. As walkers doing Hadrian's Wall, we particularly valued having somewhere to put our boots. It was warm and comfortable and very roomy for four of us. The owners were very responsive over a couple of little issues (like not being able to get on the wi-fi straight away).

It was a bit tricky to find first time - it was helpful to have the photo as reference. It was fine for four of us. There were three bedrooms and three en-suite bathrooms so it could easily sleep six people, but the dining table in the kitchen would be a bit of a squash, especially if you wanted to get in the fridge! Its a tiny comment - the owners have done the absolute best with the space - its a quirky building because it used to be a pub.

Such a lovely, homely cottage. Plenty of room, great location. Great facilities and a really kind and considerate host.

There’s nothing I didn’t like. Except that our stay was too short!
