Luxury Hanok Subtle Grace

The place was beautiful and cozy.

We had to call for them to unlock the door several times because the passcode that they sent us wouldn’t work. Worst part: I packed a bag full of gifts inside the front door just before leaving for the taxi. I forgot it there, but within a couple of hours realized that i left it and contacted the service via texts and by phone. They took a picture of one item and said that there was nothing else. After a group of texts spanning 2 days, they agreed to return the ONE item. It’s very possible the “person” we talked to on the phone and in texts was AI because some answers didn’t make any sense. This is the 3rd day of texting them and they said since its been several days and we are just now notifying them that theres not much they can do. Their staff obviously stole our items. They said they wouldn’t check their security cameras because its only of the outside and wouldn’t show our items being stolen, but surely they know who they paid to enter the room to clean. There is also no safe in the room so take all your valuables with you so the cleaners don’t clean you out while you are not there. They have a group of guest houses in the area so beware of this shady business. My friend that stays with them often recommended the place and was surprised about the poor service and will search for another option from now. DISAPPOINTED TRAVELERS!

Licht im Wohnzimmer zu dunkel. Küchenausstattung sehr spärlich. Auch Geschirrtücher fehlten.

Staying in this traditional hanok was an unforgettable experience that truly captured the spirit of Seoul. The house itself is stunning—beautifully preserved with wooden beams, delicate paper doors, and a serene courtyard that feels like stepping back in time. Despite its authenticity, it also had all the comforts I could wish for, blending tradition with modern convenience perfectly. The location was ideal: tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood, yet just a short walk from vibrant streets full of cafes, shops, and cultural landmarks. And as a final touch of luxury, the house even featured a beautiful large stone bathtub—perfect for a romantic and relaxing soak. If you are looking for a stay that is more than just accommodation—a true cultural experience—this hanok is an absolute gem. I would return in a heartbeat and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone visiting Seoul.

The hanok stay was very esthetically pleasing and the space was great for one person - also very clean. The best part was the location: great neighborhood with so much to do and eat but also quiet when it was time to sleep. And the owner at the café next door was very helpful and hospitable!

Some of the amenities like dishes and kitchen things (like a kettle, etc) could have been slightly better but were overall fine.
