The location was central to our vacation plans and also right by the sea, as advertised. The apartment was just big enough for 3 people and had basic furnishings that we could use to make meals. Plenty of closet space. Close to the town square and shopping of all kinds.

Don't open the balcony screen doors or you will get infested by mosquitos. We made the mistake of doing this during our late April stay and paid dearly with bug bites. 5th floor location with a tiny elevator or 5 flights of stairs wasn't the greatest. Also received a nasty note on our rental car from one of the building tenants about parking. Make sure to park around the corner in the municipal lot. Beds were NOT comfortable at all. Tiny bathroom where you can't open the door all the way because it bumps into the toilet. Washing machine and stove had to be translated due to being in German. Recommend not using the washing machine at all. Use the Mon-Fri laundromat down the street.

A small clean apartment right in the centre of Xilokastro. It had everything one might need for a self-catering holiday including a kitchen with all the necessary utensils (except a frying pan but we didn't need one). The heating was provided by 2 aircons which had been turned on before we arrived, something that we appreciated a lot, since it was cold outside. We had a great stay and would love to come back!

Not so important, but it would be lovely to have instructions in Greek or English on how to use the microwave and the washing machine since the buttons only had German on them and we couldn't figure out how to use the microwave. The mattress was a bit too hard. But in general everything was fine.
