Villa Kirmizi Lale, Private Pool, Gardens, Very Close to Town - No Need for Taxi

A fantastic villa, the pool can be heated if you wish. There are plenty of loungers, towels and pretty much everything you could wish for. A small arrival pack was very welcome. The shops are near but it’s very steep, really steep so unless you’re fit and active you’ll need a car. Excellent value and the owner couldn’t have been more helpful. A boat trip for the day was really good fun. Another day we went to Kastellorizo in Greece - I would recommend that - we saw sea turtles in the harbour, swam off a hotel jetty and had a lovely lunch.

We have just returned from a 9 day holiday at this beautiful villa and enjoyed every day. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and extremely well appointed with four large double bedrooms all with either en-suite or in the case of one, immediately adjacent fully on point bath/shower rooms. There is access to balconies from all bedrooms with the uppermost one sporting a fridge and bar to sit at whilst looking out over lovely Kalkan town. On the ground floor the kitchen is complete with all essential appliances and dining equipment and there is a further cloakroom and sitting area. The large water cooler is a great touch and a replacement “bubble” cost us just 130 lire. Outside the terrace enjoys the sun all day long and is exceptionally well equipped with sunbeds, hammocks, barbecue, dining table and chairs and soft seating shaded area. The private pool is a delight with its fountain feature and heating if required. All of this and the lovely garden are very well maintained. Kalkan is a lovely resort with cobbled streets sporting a myriad of shops and restaurants. But if you wish to eat in the villa, delivery of food and drink can be easily arranged or well stocked supermarkets are within easy reach. It is true that Kalkan is hilly but a taxi from the town was just 100 lire for 6 of us, which eases the guilt of not walking. Finally a word about the owner. From first contact to our return home, Felicity could not do enough to make our stay as stress free as possible, from arranging seamless airport transfers to assisting with extensive information on the area. A truly wonderful experience which we would all recommend.
