Cozy Carterville Home: 3 Mi to Crab Orchard Lake!

The owner canceled on us one hour before we were supposed to be there. The house was flea infested. We did get a full refund. But I had to book a hotel at short notice and nobody from hotels.com or the person that I rented from felt obligated to compensate the difference of the hotel room I had to book instead of the house I had set up rent. I spent many hours on the phone because I had to cancel through hotels.com and the company called Evolve. The people I talk to at evolve felt they were not responsible for any of my losses as an extra expenses. The end result after many calls in multiple hours on the phone was no added assistance for my inconvenience. I would recommend not renting from evolve, hotels.com, or any house that also allows pets. It was a great inconvenience to me and the group I was with. We will be staying at the local hotels from now on not renting short term rentals. What a disaster!
