Mumbles Cottage & Stunning Ocean Views - Sleeps 4

Location and views were great Beds very comfortable..

Unfortunately we've been reluctant to give a mediocre review, however, there were problems, 1, with the offered parking. The rugged path which had a sign stating it was 'private parking' for residents, NOT holiday let's, and despite not moving our vehicle for the duration of our stay, it was damaged to the rear side bumper presumably by a resident whom did not make themselves known to us. 2, with some housekeeping issues. Insecure door knobs in the upstairs bathroom, also to downstairs shower (control came off in our hand). Two cracked drinking glasses, broken ice cube tray (still in the freezer), mat at back door to outside seating area rotted away, storage area in garden unkempt and finally upstairs outside patio table had a cigarette stubbed out on it. Disappointing oversights given the star rating of our accommodation. We would also like to point out that we were told by 'Booking.Com' that if we were unable to provide anything less than a '10' as our review that we should first contact the company, obviously this has left us very disinclined to book through the company again or for that matter to recommend it to anyone else.

The accommodation was exceptional and location excellent.

Could have done with a bigger sofa, it wasn’t suitable for 4 adults. Microwave cooker was not easy to use.

Furnishing and how comfortable and clean it was

Beautifully furnished throughout, great bedrooms and beds that were very comfortable. Fantastic location for accessing the Mumbles. The highlight for me was the sea view from the living room which was situated on the first floor.

The stairs were a bit difficult for my elderly mother but she didn’t mind.

The property was beautiful to look at but the damp smell( or cat wee) smell was over powering and we wanted to leave the property asap We phoned the landlord first thing The owner Michael said it was fine he would send us an email to verify a full refund ,but the wife sent us a very abrupt message on the defence Saying no way for a refund We wanted to leave the property after the first night but was waiting for the email from Michael It didn’t arrive so we still left we couldn’t cope the smell it was to over powering So we paid over £500 for one and a half days with them denying us a refund Also saying we must have left a door open for a cat to enter The smell was in there when we arrived at 5’30 pm to late to phone anyone until I phoned in the morning They lied to us and blamed us we have every bit of evidence on our phones from the landlords to us and visa versa and pictures of the shower over flowing which is more likely for the smell They did offer us a cleaner to come around but how are they supposed to get rid of the smell ?. I have my own cleaning firm it’s impossible to get rid of the smell from damp or cats wee The wooden floor needs replacing in the shower room and if the landlady answered her pho to talk this might have been a different outcome I’ve stayed at 6 places in mumbles and I’ve loved everyone apart from this one Shame on the communication and lies from the hosts to quick to blame others

No overpowering smell of damp

The place is beautifully furnished and decorated. It also has really nice views out over the bay. It's conveniently close to restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed our stay there. The hosts were super helpful, even driving more than an hour to bring us a baby cot.

The bedroom closest to the road can be a little noisy when there's traffic.
