Mooie, ruime en schone waterbungalow. Twee keer daags schoonmaken en gratis water, koffie en thee. Aan onze kant was het wat lastiger zwemmen en snorkelen aangezien de stroming hier sterker was. We hebben behalve in deze bungalow ook in een strandvilla met zwembad gezeten. Zie ook deze review. Hoewel er niets mis is met de waterbungalow heeft de strandvilla met zwembad toch echt onze voorkeur aangezien deze ruimer is, een eigen zwembad en standschommel heeft en uitkijkt op de lagune.

تقييمي هذا لمعايير السعوديين والخليجين سيفيدهم أكثر بما أن الأجانب معاييرهم منخفضة وقد شعرت أنني خدعت من تقييماتهم -أولا حجزنا جناح رئاسي كامل الخصوصية وكنت متحمسة للسباحة فيه بما أنني محجبة كنت أتحرى الأيام الي راح نوصل فيها المالديف حتى أسبح أمام البحر وبخصوصية تامة ولكن حصلت على الخصوصية ولم أحصل على مسبح جيد للأسف المنتجع بالكامل يجعلني أشعر أن أجواء المالديف من أمطار ورياح وكأنها مفاجأة بالنسبة إليهم، المسبح لايوجد فيه تدفئة بارد جدا جدا لايصلح للسباحة مع أن لديهم علم أن نصف السنة عندهم أمطار ورياح فليست تلك مفاجأة رائحة الكلور تفوح منه وحتى النوافذ والأبواب يوجد بها تسريب قوي للهواء لم نستطع النوم من أصوات الرياح، العوازل معدومة تشعر وكأنك تنام خارج الفيلا لم نحظى أبدا بليلة هادئة -ثانيا البوفية (اكوا) الذي يتبع باقة الإقامة سيئ لأبعد درجة علما بأنني لست انتقائية مثل زوجي الذي لم يأكل شيئا قط، كل المأكولات لها ريحة زفر ولا تلبي رغبات الجميع خيارات محدودة في الأكل وبسيطة العرب رغباتهم مهمشة باختصار، الأكل الهندي الأقرب لدينا ولم يكن جيد ابدا ابدا اضطررنا أن ندفع رسوم في مطعم آخر هندي وكان لذيذ، أي عندما اضطررنا ان ندفع رسوما اصبح الطعام لذيذ والأكل الهندي لذيذ! عندما كان مجاني كان سيئا لأبعد حد، غير أن المطاعم اصلا محدودة جدا كلها مطعمين فقط تمنيت هناك تنوع في المأكولات -ثالثا: منتجع يعتبر راقي كهذا هل يعقل أن لايوفر سيارات جولف نضطر نمشي في الأعاصير حتى نصل لوجهتنا! ولا حتى دراجة هوائية! رابعا: الشاطئ ليس شرح وضيق ولكنها مشكلة طبيعية وليست تحت سيطرة إدارة المنتجع -خامسا وقد تعبت وأنا أكتب هذه السلبيات ولكن أنا مسؤولة أمام الله لأنقل تجربتي بصدق..

Wij hadden een beachvilla met eigen zwembad aan de kant van de lagune. Dit is de beste kant van het eiland met het mooiste deel van het strand en kijkt niet op het werkeiland. De villa was mooi, groot en schoon. Twee keer per dag wordt de villa schoongemaakt. In de villa is gratis water, thee en koffie beschikbaar. Het eigen zwembad is redelijk groot en wordt iedere dag schoongemaakt. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Als er al een probleem is wordt het direct opgelost. Het eiland heeft een eigen rif met behoorlijk veel (voornamelijk kleinere) vissen. Wel is (net als op veel plekken in de wereld) veel van het koraal al dood. Er is een mooi groot gezamenlijk zwembad. Wij hadden gekozen voor half board (ontbijt + diner). Het eten in het Aqua restaurant (buffet) is van goede kwaliteit en redelijk uitgebreid met iedere dag een ander thema. Dit verschil in thema vonden wij echter beperkt. Wel was het eten vaak niet meer warm als je het opschept. Je kan ook gaan eten in andere restaurants (welldone en Spice) maar daar moet je extra voor betalen. Wij hebben daar niet gegeten.

Alles was prima. Helaas was het weer in oktober zeer wisselvallig en valt er in deze periode relatief veel regen.

This was our second stay at this beautiful resort - and we only return to places we truly love. Once again, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef exceeded all expectations! From the moment you arrive, you can feel the genuine warmth and hospitality from everyone on the island - from our wonderful butler and the housekeeping team to the restaurant chefs, bartenders, animation crew, water sports guys, and general management. Every single person greets you with a smile and makes you feel truly special. I also had the pleasure of meeting the Resort GM, Mr. Thaha Yoosuf, and was really impressed by the resort’s commitment to sustainability and reef protection. The ongoing beach nourishment project helps preserve the island and its coral reefs from erosion - it’s great to see a resort taking such responsible steps to protect its natural beauty. The management is now finalizing an exciting new addition - a collection of stunning water villas on the resort’s iconic sandbank. We can’t wait to come back with our family and friends to experience it! A huge thank-you to Chef Chaminda from the Aqua Restaurant - every meal felt like dining at a Michelin-star restaurant ⭐️, an unforgettable culinary journey. And our butler Simal deserves special praise for making sure everything ran perfectly smoothly throughout our stay. Our Villa attendant Suranga did an excellent job of keeping our water villas in a perfect condition. Shattu from the WaterSports section provided both useful lessons and entertainment to both of our sons - thank you so much for keeping all our water activities safe and so full of fun 🤩! Sun Siyam Vilu Reef remains one of our all-time favorite Maldivian resorts — a perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and heartfelt service. Highly recommended! 🌺

Staff on the whole island 10/10 friendliness and helpfulness. Island 2/10 big construction on the South of the island, basically the long sandbank showing on their website and booking com does not exist, there are long construction fences and new buildings are constructed which is noisy and ugly with cranes and drilling. There is nowhere mentioned in the booking that there is no access to 1/4 of the island Villa and beach in front 1/10 The eastern part of the island is an artificial beach with absolutely no air to breathe. I live in Dubai and I am used to heat but there it is unbearable to even sit for a minute besides 5 am. No wind, no air, artificial beach, sand mixed with corals. View on a local industrial island. Beach barely for swimming due to walls and again construction. Always workers around.

A wonderful small island club hotel with very polite and customer-oriented staff. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were surrounded by care and excellent service. The hotel even has its own lounge at the local airport with a buffet and a voucher for a 10-minute massage – exactly what we needed after the flight. At the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by our curator Aminath, who was always polite, quick to respond, and very helpful with any request. The restaurant is cozy, with excellent cuisine. Chef Chamimda is a highly skilled professional, a generous and kind person, and simply an outstanding cook. He creates simple yet creative and delicious dishes – mainly fish, chicken, and vegetables. The staff make the atmosphere warm, heartfelt, and truly relaxing. We stayed in water villa 406 – spacious, with modern new furniture, and offering a stunning view of the ocean. What impressed us most was the dedication and warmth of the staff. During our stay, we even met loyal guests who have been returning to this hotel for the 13th and even the 40th time – and we can absolutely see why.

On one side of the island (the reef side) there is an industrial island, which is not exactly the view you usually expect to see in the Maldives. In addition, there is construction taking place on the island – it is hardly noticeable, except for one construction site on the opposite side. Unfortunately, the construction is happening on the spot of a beautiful sandbank that initially caught our attention and is often featured in the hotel’s marketing pictures. The works are right next to the reef, and while snorkeling there we occasionally came across pieces of wire and other construction-related debris. Most likely, once the construction is finished, the island will become even more comfortable and pleasant.
