Te obligan a coger la cena de gala de Nochebuena, te cobran casi 500$ por persona y es un Buffet parecido a un día normal.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal auf den Malediven und waren wirklich total baff von der Schönheit! Alle waren sehr zuvorkommend und stets für einen da. Die Begrüssung war sehr herzlich. Das Essen fanden wir auch sehr lecker. Die Vielfalt am Riff und um unsere Villa der Fischen war mega!

Wir hatten all Inklusiv gebucht, so dass wir vor Ort eigentlich nichts mehr zu zahlen hatten. Ich hatte etwas das Gefühl, dass es erwünscht gewesen wäre, wir hätten noch zusätzlich einen Ausflug machen sollen. Dieser war uns allerdings zu teuer. Generell, die zusätzlichen Ausflüge sind meiner Meinung nach sehr überteuert, auch die Massagen. Wir hatten zum Ankommen ein sehr schön dekoriertes Bett, an den nächsten Tagen nichts mehr. Ich dachte auf den Malediven wäre es schon üblich mit dekorierten Handtüchern oder Kleinigkeiten auf dem Zimmer das war leider nicht. Leider waren auch keine Snacks auf dem Zimmer. Generell hatte ich oft nicht den Überblick, was etwas zusätzlich kostet oder was im All Inclusive war. Wir haben einmal Frühstück aufs Zimmer bestellt. Dies kam leider 20 Minuten zu spät, ohne Entsprechende Rückmeldung.

The resort was small and personal, not crowded, we got all the attention we needed, no mass tourism. We always got little treats in the room (coconut snack, bathtub with roses, fresh coconut, chocolates..) Our personal assistant Amanith took care, that our stay would be perfect and organized everything for us. We booked with half board, but we did not stay hungry. The food at the restaurant was delicious prepared by Sri Lankan Chefs Yoonus and Chaminda - they cooked some meals especially for us, were very attentive and enjoyed their job always with a smile on their face. The fresh fish and curries were very delicious. The choice at the buffet was big and the theme changed always, so it did not stay boring. There was a gala dinner at the new years eve with somehow hidden fee of 500 USD per person, what shocked us unpleasantly, however the dinner was worth it - great buffet with freshly prepared meals by the chefs. You could taste really everything. Sri Lankan, Indian, Maledivian… meals. It was actually great to celebrate the new years eve there. The actual highlight was their housereef. We saw so many beautiful different colorful fishes, sharks and even twice a turtle! the reef was very near, no strog swimming skills needed. There was a guard always watching so it felt very safe. The water was not too deep, you could even take a break on the side and stand. It was very private, not crowded. The current was pushing us safely to the shore. Actually you just needed to float and watch and enjoy the current brought you slowly to the end of the beach. Swimming shoes to protect your feet were needed that you don’t hurt yourself. We stayed also at another hotel that didn’t have a house reef, they brought us with a boat nearby with all the other guests and there was actually not much to see - very little fish, poor diversity, it was crowded, dangerous and stressful and time limiting.

We did not take all inclusive, nothing was included, completely everything was chargable - even borowing snorkeling equipment or kayaks and the prices were not low. The water villas and the main restaurant would need a little makeover/refreshment - they looked aged.

tolle Insel, grosser Pool für Kinder, ruhigere hintere Teil im Meer zum Baden (hatte da auch weniger Wind). Pool Strandvillen top mit einem Grosszügigen Pool, Service war freundlich oder bemüht freundlich zu sein.

Essen hätte besser sein können. zwar gab es abwechselnde Buffets, aber trotzdem same/same but different. Abwechslung hat gefehlt. zudem hätte ich mehr Fisch aus Auswahl erwartet, und in allen Restaurants (von Buffet (mit Fish BBQ Theme) bis hin zum "fine dining" restaurant war der Fisch jeweils zu trocken, zu lange gegrillt. Einzig am livecooking stand, da gab es aber nur Reefisch oder Calamari oder Thunfisch (was gut ist, aber halt jeden tag dasselbe). Indisches Restaurant (Spices am Abend) konnte überzeugen, aber da will man auch nicht 10 Tage lang essen.

The island is natural (not man-made), and therefore has nice lush greenery. The ocean water in the lagoon is clean, transparent, without seaweed and at the right temperature (slightly refreshing). Staff service is excellent and staff was ready to help and solve problems, reacting immediately - special thanks to Zidh and Sahib. The beach villa we stayed was excellent - no remarks there. Very good quality of coffee for a resort in the Maldives.

Food quality and variety could be improved, both in the main buffet restaurant (Aqua) and the two a la carte restaurants (Spice and Welldone). The all inclusive package was rather limited: there was no complimentary spa time included (like in another Sun Siyam resort), while only limited part of the menu in the two a la carte restaurants and the bar was part of the all inclusive package (most of the quality items were charged). Gala dinners for Xmas and New Year's eve were at an exaggerated mandatory supplement - 2000 USD for 2 persons - on top of the paid all inclusive package. It is interesting that at this exaggerated price, the guests receive buffet dinner, without any wine included in the price. Finally, the entertainment programme could be improved and more varied - seeing the same average fire show and belly dancing several times becomes boring.

We had a wonderful stay at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef and were overall very satisfied with our experience. Positives -From the moment you arrive at the airport, you are welcomed into the lounge where drinks, snacks, and a children’s playroom are available. -The seaplane to the island departed within three hours of our arrival. -The staff on the island were genuinely friendly, caring, and consistently attentive. They truly helped make our stay memorable. Special thanks to: • Reema, our host, for providing all the information we needed • Babul, for taking great care of our room and cleaning it twice a day • Sagar, Asmita, Rita, Vijay, and Imran from Restaurant Aqua, always cheerful and wonderful with our kids • Zaina, Sam, and Marie from the Kids Club -The festive and entertainment activities towards Christmas were very enjoyable -The food was consistently good, both at the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. Overall, despite a few drawbacks, we had a great holiday and appreciated the hospitality and atmosphere at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef.

-The “All Inclusive” package does not include à la carte snacks, despite the hotel promoting its offering as 24/7 all-inclusive. -We were not informed in advance about the ongoing construction work, which blocks access to the side of the island where the sandbank is located. -The fee for the Christmas Gala Dinner felt quite high at $500 per adult. -The view on the east side of the island is less appealing, as it faces a local island and concrete walls. -The entairtainment should be more focused on local Maldivian traditions rather than Western imported
