Nice hosts, beautiful view from the room in the middle of the green

L'alloggio è bellissimo. Abbiamo soggiornato in una stanza deliziosa e molto pulita, sembrava di stare in una casa sull'albero! Inoltre I Guest sono persone gentilissime e accoglienti, le colazioni sono ottime (la Kaya fatta in casa è eccezionale e assolutamente da provare) ed è possibile beneficiare di numerosi servizi.

Wir haben uns bei unserem kurzen Aufenthalt im Swindo 77 Homestay sehr wohl gefühlt. Gi ist eine tolle und sehr herzliche Gastgeberin und macht die besten Pancakes zum Frühstück! Das Haus mit der kleinen Kaffee-Plantage im Garten ist mit seiner außergewöhnlichen Architektur wirklich ein besonderer Ort. Vom Homestay zum Ortskern Berastagi sind es ca. 20 min zu Fuß, dort kann man beispielsweise den Fruit-Market oder den Local-Market besuchen. Gi kann auch, wenn man möchte, Fahrer für die An- und Abreise oder einen Guide für die Vulkan-Tour organisieren. Wir können Swindo 77 wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

The room was beautiful and very confortable with a nice hot shower. The house is unique and very charming. I felt really welcomed and at home, the owners are very friendly. If you want, they also rent a motorbike and prepare breakfast.

We had a fantastic stay here! The room was clean, comfortable, and had a fabulous terrace — perfect for relaxing. The hot water shower was great, and everything felt very well kept. The owners were incredibly nice and helpful, which made our stay even better. By the way, be sure to have breakfast here — the delicious pancakes with homemade jam are a real treat, and you get to enjoy a wonderful chat with the hosts. I saw an earlier review claiming the place was hard to find and "a mess" — frankly, that’s nonsense. If you can use Google Maps, you’ll have no trouble getting here (we and other guests certainly didn’t). As for the so-called “mess,” that’s just a misunderstanding. On the way up to the guest rooms, you pass the owners’ living space, so you might see normal day-to-day life — a few things on the table, etc. The guest rooms themselves are perfectly clean and tidy. I highly recommend staying here, especially compared to other accommodation I’ve had in Sumatra — this place is a gem!

Difficult to reaach the place and the room. The house is a mess.

We loved that is was set outside of the busy town but still easy to access everything. The hosts really opened their home to us and they couldn’t have been more helpful. If you have time ask for a massage, it was brilliant. The house is very unique and we loved being up on the third floor surrounded by greenery. Don’t rush your trip you need at least 2 nights here.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and can honestly say it was one of the most magical places we've experienced during our long journey through Asia. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality by the owners, who immediately made us feel at home with their kindness and attentiveness. The room was extremely comfortable, thoughtfully designed, and the private balcony was a wonderful surprise - the perfect spot to relax surrounded by nature, with breathtaking views and peaceful serenity. A special thank you to Tikko, our driver who took us on an unforgettable tour the next day: from traditional villages to stunning waterfalls, all the way to magnificent Lake Toba. His friendly professionalism made the experience even more memorable! After months of traveling, we finally found a place where we could truly recharge, thanks to the intimate, family-like atmosphere here. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authenticity, comfort and a special connection with nature. We'll definitely return, and we hope everyone gets to experience the same magic we did!
