Harbour Bridge 13A

I have stayed here in another unit in the past. I always enjoyed the area, being next to the canals and close to a lot of main facilities was a plus. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. I felt very at home in that place. I was a early check-in and they organized for me to meet the Housekeeper who was on her way to clean the flat. She graciously allowed me to use the desk in the Lounge and the Apartment's WIFI to catch up on some urgent work emails while she was cleaning the bedroom.

There are a few maintenance issues that the owner should consider addressing. The bedroom's closet door doesn't close properly. You can already see it in the Booking.com Listing gallery of pictures. I would have thought that would have been fixed sooner than later. There's a crack on one of the kitchen cabinetry. That should be addressed too. On check-out I was to have deposited the key in the black key safe attached to the mailbox. Unfortunately, the combination provided didn't work or not sure if the key safe was working properly or not. I deposited the key into the mailbox instead.

The hotel itself looks exactly as shown — well decorated, smart TV, great location. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

There were a few letdowns that made the experience fall short of expectations, especially for a special occasion like my birthday. Firstly, the listing mentioned that shower products would be provided, but none were available. Secondly, there was a strong unpleasant smell in the room that I couldn’t get rid of. Although I was expecting the container view, it was an unpleasant sight to see. More disappointing was the fact that I paid for a daily cleaning fee, but my room was not cleaned at all during my stay, even after I requested it. If I was petty, I would request a refund but I’m not that petty. Lastly, I had made a request for birthday room decor well in advance, but received no response for quite some time, and ended up having to find an alternative solution. Overall, the hotel has potential and a decent look, but communication really needs improvement. It’s the little things that add up, especially when you're paying for them.
