Watson - The Vestry on Read

The property had a lot of character with nice, bold colors and themes. It's in a location that's very close to downtown and other great areas. The front lobby is very welcoming and quiet. There's a combo washer/dryer, nice sized refrigerator, cooktop and a microwave. The kitchen was stocked well with anything needed for cooking. The check in instructions were clear and easy to understand.

DIRTY, STAINED MATTRESS. There was an issue we had with the pull out sofa mattress. It was a very stained, dirty, and actually, the underside had areas that looked like mold. We did contact the property and they were quick to respond. They provided an encasement that was to cover the dirty mattress but this was not on the first night it was provided by the second day. They did say they would provide a replacement mattress but the replacement was to come pretty much after our checkout. Just being honest...it would have been nice if it could have been replaced while we were there though. We were there for my daughter's birthday and she would be the one sleeping on the couch. We pretty much just put it back up and she slept on top of the couch.It was not the most comfortable and let's be honest although she could have slept with me, she did want some privacy. The couch was just okay as far as comfort, not the best birthday experience for her. After that, I didn't even want to try to look at my mattress on the bed upstairs. So I pretty much just slept on top of the covers with a cover that I brought. CLEANING DETAIL: I know no place is perfect but also let them know (prior to checkout) that maybe iust for future the details of cleaning could be checked. The bathroom door on the back and parts of the walls just have a lot of water spots and dust and could probably use a detailing. The mirror upstairs in the bedroom was not clear, you could see where it was wiped but not cleared, very hazy. Nothing was said about this and the items below because this didn't hinder our stay...just points for reference. Honestly I also didn't want to be considered nit- picky or be considered an issue. If it was any worse, I would have notified them. I did share photos also. It seems as if I am limited to only 4 uploads on this review, so I could not upload those photos.
