Spotless, comfortable bed, great location

The location was great, in the centre of everything. Saturday night was noisy, lots of youngsters partying, but to be expected given the location, but it was fine and the following nights were quiet. We didn’t cook, but for those that want to eat in, the kitchen and equipment is very complete. Overall, a great space for 2 people.

Before we arrived, we requested 2 additional bath towels and this was confirmed, for a small charge, which was fine. Unfortunately, only one extra bath towel was supplied, along with a stained hand towel. I reported this by message, and at the same time asked for 2 more pillows, because those provided were flat & hard. The hosts response was “Sorry, this is not an hotel, all our guests are satisfied with everything including the pillows” Not very helpful. No, it is not an hotel, but I do expect to have a good night’s sleep for the price paid, and a second pillow is not a big ask. We were informed the cleaning team confirmed they had left 2 extra towels, so indirectly accusing me of lying. We reported the shower needed attention, as the bottom section of the seal is missing. Therefore, every time we showered the bathroom floor flooded. We had to use the 3rd bath towel to soak up the water. The top section of the shower seal is rotten and will break at any time. I was classified by the host as a “troublesome guest”, “disrespectful” and “lacking manners” I was also told they had video evidence of the condition of the apartment and towels in case I filed a complaint. My goodness why would they need that before we arrived? Interesting when you see that the review score on Booking for the apartment is high, which is well merited, but I understand why the review for staff only merits a 7,5. Also interesting that a previous guest also mentions more towels are required. Customer service and communication is clearly lacking.

Needed 2 towels each for a week!

The apartment was very modern, with both central heating and air conditioning. Well equipped modern kitchen, and bathroom. The location was superb, an easy 5 minute walk to the heart of the Old Town, and even closer to the promenade along the beach at La Concha. Views of the bay and beach at Mount Igueldo from the windows. Substantial closet space in the bedroom. Comfortable bed.

The foyer in the apartment could use either hooks or a coat tree when coming in, rather than having to carry coats to the bedroom to hang. The eating area would be far more comfortable for a meal if it had a regular height small table and chairs, instead of the freestanding bar-height table with backless stools.
