Cortijo El Pinar 1

Fantastic location, 15/20 minutes from the airport and beaches, and 5 minutes from Níjar village, which has all the facilities you need, including bars, restaurants, cultural attractions and activities, such as pottery and, depending on the time of year, music in the plaza. Cortijo El Pinar hosts were amazing, nothing too much trouble and responded instantly if any questions. The facilities are as expected/hoped for, with consideration of what would be needed whilst away. Outside space is excellent and well maintained, with the pool cleaned daily(the water was icy cold in May) and plenty of seating areas. We would not hesitate to recommend Cortijo El Pinar 1 to those who enjoy socialising or mixing with other guests (although there are private outdoor areas for each, such as seating, BBQ etc, not an issue but good to know) as there is El Pinar 2 and a wooden lodge on site which may also have guests. Thank you to Fini and family who are fantastic hosts.

Pool cover should be considered to retain any water heat and minimise pine needles etc.

Very nice location with swimming pool, and great outside designated area. Friendly hosts. It's private and remote, we liked that, is one the reasons we choose this place, perfect for families with kids, if you like to organize by yourself. You will need a car though for shopping groceries and visit the nearest beaches, maybe 30 min max drive time. The closest big city is Almeria with plenty of things to see and do, shopping malls etc. We loved it, thank you!

A very nicely restored "cortijo" or old Spanish farmhouse with all amenities to pass a relaxing time with family or friends. The owners are very friendly people who will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The pool area is excellent to just enjoy and chill during hot summer days. Very confortable beds and ceiling fans in every room. Air conditioning in the salon and master bedroom. Pueblo of Nijar close by with stores and restaurants. Bigger grocerie stores (Mercadona & Lidl) some 8-9km away. The beaches at Cabo de Gata National Park!! Went to a couple and our absolute favourite was Playa de Los Muertos. You will have to walk a bit, but it's absolutely worth it!!

When I made the reservation, I had the impression that it was a totally separate / private villa with no neighbours. In reality the cortijo consists of two separate apartments and if there are guests staying in the other apartment at the same time, you'll probably be aware of it (soundproofing is not that good) and will be forced to do some socialising because even though each apartment has it's own patio area and barbecue, the pool area is shared.
