Apartment 31 Citygate York

We liked the location ideal just outside the bar walls , the apartment was pretty and nicely decorated . Easy arrival and check out very friendly and helpful host .

The bathrooms had a bad smell on arrival with was a bit off putting , one of the beds was a very small double bed not ideal for 2 people , no bathroom mats were provided, no non slip mats in the bathroom we had to purchase our own. limited cooking facilities, which only makes it ideal for a one or two night stay. We were four guests and provided with 4 coat hangers, limited wardrobe space. Very dangerous getting out of the bath, a good 1.5ft drop.

Comfortable made us feel at home

It was very warm weather so rather hot for sleeping but we are aware the hot weather rarely happens

The furnishings were lovely and comfortable. There was plenty of space, and everything was well appointed. The flat was lovely and quiet, and only a 15 minute walk from the Minster. Asda was 2 minutes away - again, this was great. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Plenty of helpful extras such as hand wash, washing up liquid, salt etc. Beds and seating extremely comfortable.

A lamp in the sitting room would have made the lighting much, much better as the numerous ceiling lights were far too bright. No mirror of any kind in the second bedroom - a small wall mirror would have been beneficial. There were no instructions on how to work the cooker or the hob - again, this would have benefitted us and been very helpful (We think we found them this morning, hiding above the fridge within the sealed unit!). The second bathroom had a strong unpleasant odour from drains which made us avoid this. Lastly, a shelf for shower gel etc in the en suite would have been good as there was nowhere for these. Small details which would make a stay much more comfortable, but a delightful place, clean and spacious - overall, a lovely stay.

The property was brand new and in great condition, very clean and had everything we needed.

There was a little bit of difficulty getting into the building at first but thankfully Andy was available to answer all my questions.

Clean, modern well designed apartment. Amazed at how little noise from traffic when the windows were closed. Also little noise heard from other residents, makes a big difference.

Although it had a mop for the flooring there was no brush and pan to sweep up crumbs or other mess prior to mopping.
