USOur stay at Zen no Yu was a real highlight of our time in Japan. We had the kaiseki dinner the evening of our arrival and the breakfast in the morning. Both were excellent! Starting with reception, the whole experience of the inn, from the temple grounds to the quiet shared spaces to the provision of yukata, creates an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. The onsens were clean and inviting--I especially enjoyed the open air bathing on the back deck. Plus, the reserved time in our own couples bath in the evening was fantastic! Highly recommended!
I only regret that we did not have more time to stay another night or two.
