"In general it was fine, just need to provide a hoover and improve a couple things. Would stay again though"

5.0

Good location for us as close too family, beds were comfy, nice house in general.

Even though they supplied a travel cot, a high chair and baby plates, there was no stair gates but the fixings for them we’re in the stairs which was strange, the stairs are very steep and we had a 2 year old. The downstairs toilet didn’t flush, there was no hoover, again we had children with us and we all know kids can be messy so we had to borrow a hoover from a family member. There was cobwebs and spiders all over the house so not sure if the cleaners didn’t dust properly or the house just wasn’t stayed in for a while’ the bathroom was a bit grotty round the bath, no gate in the front garden for little kids, the back garden isn’t very safe for young children? Overgrown and neglected, the garden furniture again was not maintained,

"An excellent location."

10.0

This place was well maintained, and has both back and front gardens. The front is especially private, and it was lovely to be able to sit in the sun. For a city place the location was surprisingly pleasant, with grass and trees in abundance. The host company was very efficient and pleasant in communication, which was much appreciated. We especially liked the light and airy nature of the downstairs, with plenty of windows and an archway between the rooms, which meant the light pervaded the whole place.

The pillows were not quite to my liking, but that's such a personal thing that it's hardly a criticism!

The house was warm, one drafty window in the front bedroom but didn't really notice when curtains closed and heating on. No parking restrictions which was helpful. House was well equipped and comfortable and worth the £75 per night we paid. I would stay again at the same rate.

Only one set of keys was a pain for multiple adults, you could leave them in the key safe if you were out but if one person was out at night you either had to leave the door open or wait up until they got back as I didn't want to be locked in with no key due to fire safety.

"Overpriced and Underwhelming"

7.0

The property was always warm which was great. The beds were comfortable and the bedding clean. The house was clean and tidy when we arrived.

There was no hoover. We arrived with three children under 10 who ate Pringles and dropped crumbs. I asked for a hoover and was told not to worry about it- but that meant we had to walk around on crumbs all week, which would have been a nightmare over Christmas. We had to borrow a hoover to fix this, which was very inconvenient :/ The back garden was a muddy mess. The kids could not play there as it was like a bog, and the drain at the back was backing up and spilling out. If this was different our review would be better. The property has an ‘unfinished’ vibe. The floor in the kitchen isn’t edged and is lifting. The kitchen plinths were missing the end panels. The house feels like it had a ‘Homes Under The Hammer’ landlord special- given a paint job and some new flooring and it is considered ‘luxury’. The front path up to the house has a little concrete slope which was very slippery- be careful of this! There were water stains on the ceilings, a cracked front window pane, loose screws between the flooring in the kitchen and living room, and it is rather small. The house was a stretch for our five. There was no live TV option and we had to reconnect the TV and to the internet. No aerial meant no Christmas TV and the streaming services were not logged in, we had to pay for them. The parking situation; there is no parking ON SITE, but rather on the road near the property. This was frustrating for us as our kids are neurodiverse and run out into the roads unexpectedly. A parking space would be a big advantage on the property. We essentially paid £100 a night for this home and it didn’t feel like value for money compared with other places we have stayed. Even though it was Christmas, I feel like the home is overpriced and underwhelming. We asked for the house to be decorated for Christmas, and we got a string of lights, a 2ft Christmas tree, some tinsel and a tiny snowman. The kids were unhappy with this, and it didn’t feel like Christmas.
