Stunning sea views - Barry's Retreat by Tŷ SA

The entranceway is very slippery and dangerous. It was like walking on ice and needs some serious work to be repaired before someone gets seriously injured.

The location is excellent, in a really lovely part of Barry called Cold Knapp, walk to the right and there is a lovely lake in a park setting, walk to the left and you are on the front at Barry. It's over a great Turkish restaurant too, we had some really authentic meals there.

The apartment was fine for 3/4 people.

The location was on a very busy road which was noisy Street parking was a 5 minute walk up a steep hill We had a serious issue with the carbon monoxide alarm going off at night. We didn’t think it was at all well handled by the managers. They told us to ignore the danger notices and turn the gas back on BEFORE the gas engineer inspected. We were dismayed by that and advice and only then did they arrange a gas engineer. The property on the second floor is accessed by a scruffy fire escape staircase which was soiled with black oil dripping from the extraction fans of the ground floor Turkish restaurant. There were only 4 dining chairs and insufficient tableware for 6 people. The stair carpet to the upper floor is loose at the top and is very dangerous.

The apartment is suprisingly spacious and homely. Coveniently situated close to the beach the views from the windows and balconies are stunning. A Turkish Restaurant is underneath the apartment and a Pub located opposite. The seaside resort and amusement park are a 15 minute walk away. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. We would love to visit again.

The property access can be a bit tricky as the entrance to the apartment is served by an outside staircase reached by a side gate.
