Tetsu-juro former Ogunis residence , Himeji Castles back parlor-like"400-year-old inn"

A beautiful place to stay in a small quirky town near Himeji. The house is full of history and atmosphere, and left us with a sense of peace and relaxation at the end of our trip. The cypress bathroom is absolutely gorgeous, looks out into your private Japanese garden, and smells divine. Best bath experience in Japan. They also provide delicious rice breads for breakfast, and lovely bathroom products to use. Our host was delightful - we were able to communicate via Google Translate as our Japanese isn't great, but that worked out fine, and Yamada also offered us to borrow bicycles to get around town, as the house is a little out of the way. He also picked us up from the train station when we arrived, and dropped us off when we left! Thank you for a wonderful stay Yamada :) PS The town, Fukusaki, is filled with sculptures of creatures from Japanese folklore! They're so weird and cool... Worth a trip just to check them out.

小学生1人と大人6人、3家族でお世話になりました。 歴史のあるおうちを綺麗にリノベーションされていて、食器も充実、台所周りの電化製品もバリュミューダだったりとオシャレ、宿主様のセンスがひかるお宿だと思いました。 お風呂も2人くらいは、入れる大きくて深い檜風呂で、自動お湯はりで快適！ お部屋はツインのベットのお部屋と、和室が2つでレトロ館をうまく利用していて素敵！ 過ごしやすく、トイレも2つあって便利でした！ ご飯は夕食にアナゴ鍋をいただきましたが、お出汁がめちゃくちゃおいしくて、野菜もアナゴも〆のもち麦麺？も絶品でした！ 朝食の米粉パンも色んな種類があり、冷凍状態からレンジで温めていただくのですが、出来たて熱々。もちもちで、おいしかったです！

良くないところは特に思い当たらないですが、強いていえば、チェックアウトのこと。 これまで、何度もこのタイプのお宿に泊まってきたのですが、チェックアウトはそのまま帰るか、一声かけて帰るパターンばかりだったのが、今回はチェックアウト10時前に部屋に来られてチェック？するパターンでした。 9時30分ころには荷物もまとめていたので、問題はなかったのですが、チェックアウト時間前に【もう掃除に入って良いか】と聞かれた時は、あまり良い気分ではなかったので、システム上難しくなければ、そのままチェックアウトの方が良いような気がしました。 (一棟貸のようなお宿を選ぶ人は、対人やり取りを、あまり好まない人が多いと思います)

Beautiful garden view from the cypress bath. Beautiful accommodation and very clean. We loved the hospitality of the host who took us for a guided tour of the local attractions (shrines, temples, and the local yokai spots) We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend going.

The premise is well located in this beautiful and peaceful town of Fukusaki. She lays against the sacred mountain, facing the fundamental of Japan: rice field. It is very meaningful. The building is amazingly reversed and maintained. I can see how much effort Yamada san and local people spent to make sure this historical architecture will be in the best status to demonstrate the local history to the people coming from the world. The staying experience is fantastic. I and my wife found your hotel on the internet. We were not sure whether this would be satisfying my family. It turned this was one of the best decision in my time as a tourist. We all love the staying here and we all highly impressed by Yamada san meticulous and consistent high level is customer service. Yamada san is being very responsive from the beginning when we were exchanging info by emails. The SOP (standard operation process) sheet is the the first time that we ever see. Even though we have use the translator from time to time, Yamada san are very patient and are so kind. Thanks to Yamada san for arranging the tea ceremony. It is impressive experience. And thank you for arranging taxi and guiding us the way to the railway station. Again, the house owner Yamada san is very kind. We are all impressed by everything. Yamada san takes care of us ^_^very well. If we have more time, we definitely would choose to stay more nights.

Really nice traditional Japanese house. Very clean, spacious, confortable and beautiful. The host was lovely and very friendly . We had a great barbecue meal there. I recommended.
