A 10 minuti a piedi dal bus stop, con il fiume che scorre a pochi metri dalla finestra un vero piacere, ristorante molto buono a 3 minuti dalla struttura

Great space, very bright and comfortable. Washer and dryer in unit. Nice back view of porch though there were no chairs in the back.

Walls are thin so might be abit difficult if you have excited kids that needs to settle down during quiet hours. Not so much a dislike just to be aware of for people with young kids.

Posizione molto comoda per la visita del villaggio storico Camere spaziose. Cibo a disposizione sia per la cena che per la colazione. Lavatrice asciugatrice a disposizione gratuita. Ottima la pulizia.

the headroom, hit my head on ledges at least 4 times to 2 different doorways, one to the toilet and the other to the guest room.

Espace cuisine désuet et pas très propre

A nice guesthouse in the non-historical part of Shirakawa-Go. The room was okay, even though the walls and wardrobe showed signs of aging. There was free food (one portion per day per person), which was necessary, because the restaurants inside the village close quite early. The toilet was clean and modern. The bedding was relatively soft for a futon. It is close to the historical town, however you do have to walk a bit (10-15 minutes) to get there. Nearby there is a combini (NOT open 24/7) and a gas station. The cost was low, however I didn't travel in the peak season in winter.

The owners a re very hands-off. The culminated in me never seeing them during my stay. You do an online check-in, get notified once your room is cleaned, and then you pick up your key in a box in the kitchen. However the access to these keys is not regulated at all. The door is left unlocked and anyone could technically use you room if they arrived before you. This might be more normal in Japan, however I still found it weird. The kitchen was alright, but the naked concrete floor combined with the run-down walls gave it a bit of an unclean vibe.
