Aqua Beach House Sotoura - 1min walk to Sotoura Beach!

This house was SO much fun! The design and decor were phenomenally done. We loved how the host took a traditional home and transformed it into the beach pop style. The home was spacious and provided so many amenities. We were happy to do our laundry at the home and have such a relaxing atmosphere towards the end of our two week stay in Japan. The host, Billy, was outstanding. I cannot emphasize enough how kind and responsive he was to everything. He came by to meet us and happily brought us beach chairs, beach gear, and offered SO much quick advice on where to go, what to do, where to eat, etc. We had a great stay in Shimoda and chose to go to a few different beaches, Shimoda Park, and the Kawazu seven waterfalls with our time. So much fun!

The specific neighborhood of Shimoda isn't the nicest to walk through. The beach is SUPER close to the house, but it is not the nicest beach in the area; we chose to go swim at two other beaches although we walked to the nearby beach for the views and exercise multiple times. But I think that is also just personal preference.

The house is as beautiful as shown ...3min walking to the beach...nice beds, great kitchen, comfy living room..Billy is the nicest host helping you in any way you need (taxi, reservations f restaurants, etc)...highly recommended !!dont mind a spider now and then;))

All in all a great property that is tastefully done. All facilities are great with four bedrooms, 8 beds and 2 futons, the place was good for family of 10. The BBQ and kitchen facilities were very good. Three toilets were very clean and tidy and good for the large group that we were. However, the only limiting factor was the single bathroom. This was just a minor issue though. Overall, the property was outstandingly clean. The owners reached out and gave us clear guidelines . 10/10 for cleanliness and assistance.

Beautiful house, perfect for 2 families. We really loved the kitchen/living room/dining room area: it’s beautifully decorated and spacious. The owner is really nice too!

A dishwasher would have been nice :)
