Marina die Tertenia is a (very isolated) settlement (you literally have to pass "through" mountain to come here) with two well equipped supermarkets very close to the appartment and the one kilometer long beach Foxi Manna. There are few restaurants nearby, one directly next to the appartment which serves pizza only and is not owned by the appartment owners. The landlady Maria and her sister Lousie speak Italian only, so the communication was through What´s up. We especially appreciated their hospitality and the privacy they gave us. Louise picked us up on the first day from the bus station in Tertenia and in general, all the questions we asked, were answered. They even send us the information about foxes running around to warn us. The apartment is spacious and clean, but very basic with old(er) furniture. We loved having washing machine and the flexibility to wash our own things. The beach Foxi Manna is few minutes away and good for swimming, with no natural shadow. It could be crowded, especially in August, but nevet too croweded, you will always find a free spot. If you need a doctor, the next village Tertenia is 20 Minutes away by car, be aware that he does not speak English or any other foreign language, but is very nice.

As stated in description, there is no Internet in the apartment and the bed sheets, towels and air conditioning are paid extra. Status July 25 - Air conditioning is 100 Euros and the set of sheets and bed towels 40 Euros per Person. We knew this before hand and were prepared. There is no microwave, or a dishwasher or sofa, as said, the apartment is very basic, but if you are missing something other than that make sure you ask. There are other apartments rented for quests, one below this apartment and one next to it, so if you are sensitive to noice, this could be challenging, since there are quests talking directly below your windows (for us this was not a problem). The biggest challenge for us was the isolation, since we were mostly without car and felt very isolated. There is a bus that takes you to Tertenia three time a day, but very difficult to combine in connection with other buses. Tap water is not drinkable and the water dispenser close by the apartment was not working. All in all, we had an OK stay, but did not like the whole look and feel of the place, looks very abandoned and poor, with a lot of unfinished houses and not much to do except swimming, which we loved. Be aware that Sardinia is not an island turned toward the sea, but rather the land (you see cows and sheep everywhere and pecorino cheese is very famous here) where people work hard to earn their money and this place shows it very much. So if you are looking for a "promenade and serenade", this is not your kind of place...
