Good location — it’s within a pleasant 20–30 minute walk to the Old Town (depending on your pace). The apartment is also very spacious, which was a big plus for us.

We notified the host in advance that we would arrive one hour early (stated check-in was 3pm) and were asked to pay £10 for the early check-in, which we paid. This was actually the first time we’ve ever been charged for an early arrival across many hotels and Airbnbs. While we respect the house rule, the fee did make the welcome feel a little less warm and flexible. On the payment, I really appreciated the owner’s trust and flexibility. Since bank transfer or PayPal wasn’t convenient for me, they kindly allowed us to simply leave the £10 in cash in the apartment when we left. One small suggestion: the dining table in the kitchen is quite high, which made it rather uncomfortable for us (we are on the shorter side) during meals. A lower table or footstools would help.

the location of the property was lovely and as it said in the preview

as soon as we walked in there was the most awful smell which we worked out to be coming from the ensuite shower. we did report this but received no answer. we also reported that the tv in the lounge wasn't working but received no answer. i think it was the plug. we also reported the window in the main bedroom wouldn't close, so there was a draught all the time and it was blowing the blinds which were banging constantly against the window. good points, kitchen is lovely, beds not bad, water was hot and the apartment was warm. the front door key has to be jiggled to get it to turn. this did take a bit of working out. also when i was needing to put the key back in the lock compartment near the parking space, a car had parked so close it was impossible to do. thank goodness i could hand it to the cleaner.

Everything about the flat was great - amenities, location, comfort all great!

It would have been nice to have a full length mirror and a bin in the bedroom but these are just small things

The video that explains how to get into the apartment and how to work the central heating and appliances was fantastic and really helpful. The apartment was beautifully done out and had super comfy beds and pillows. It was situated in a perfect area for sight seeing and shopping.

A shortage of clothes hangers and utensils were the only downside, however we purchased some hangers and a potato masher, which we left at the apartment for other guests to use. The main bedroom could be a little noisy with traffif early in the morning.

Location is great, close to Princess, George Streets. Deans village is also in close proximity. All required stuff is available at the Appartment. Heating was very good, so as the elevator was good convenience. View of Leith waters from one of the rooms was also nice. No noise although that there were people living in the building

Not much except a few things like the windows should have been double glazed. No classical/ old corniche seen in the Appartment. Sofas & curtains need to be replaced. A proper dining table is required as well as the barstools in the kitchen are a bit uncomfortable

The location was fabulous….could walk everywhere from the apartment. Apartment was very secure, full of light, very clean and the parking space is just around the back.

Pillows in both bedrooms were the worst we have ever slept on…Contributed to poor sleep and sore necks. Kitchen only had 2 water glasses and kitchen utensils were very sparse…making cooking and serving even a simple meal a bit of a chore.

Perfect location, comfortable beds, good shower pressure. Lovely large apartment.

Could do with the option to split the second double beds into 2 singles, but we did know that when booking. Unfortunately there was a terrible drain smell from the en-suite while we were there. Also could do with some tea towels to wipe up the washing up. Unfortunate that the second bathroom only has a bath and we were unable to use the shower head as when you turned it on there was a leak in the connecting pipe which sent the water everywhere.
