"Did what we needed. Great for watching Wimbledon! Just a bit dirty, no curtains and poor checkin process let it down."

7.0

Location for exploring is great. Parking right outside good and garden great with a dog. Wall about 5ft high at lowest point so large jumping dogs might not be ok but for most it’s an entirely secure garden. Right next to Asda making self catering very easy. Not paying for a sea view so do get more house for your money than holiday homes with a view or in a picturesque Cornish village/town. TV connected to everything. Was great for Wimbledon on iPlayer, for Netflix and for Disney. Didn’t see whether it had Amazon or any other steaming services set up with accounts but had all those three ready to go. It has all the facilities…but… they are all basic spec. Feels like it was a show home and it’s been bought in full with all the furnishings. It does look lovely and is comfy just now but quite a bit is flimsy so if reading this review in a year or two, might not be accurate anymore.

Noisy! Between main road and main train line and it sounds like all the motorbikes in Cornwall race round at night. Window coverings are horizontal slat blinds that really don’t keep out the light so bad if you’re a light sleeper, or like us you have a little one who goes to bed and gets up with the light. They’re very large windows too so our travel black out blind wasn’t big enough. Ask for the window size if you’re staying with a little one and need to bring black out blinds for some sleep! Poor checkin process. You need to use their portal to make payment and pay damage deposit. Their portal kept failing at their end for our damage deposit payment. Directions, the address isn’t yet on google so wasn’t of use. Thankfully I’d seen on the pictures it was right opposite Asda and there’s an obvious set of new builds. Clean enough, but was in need of a spring clean when we were there. Dust building on surfaces and on skirting boards which is very noticeable on the stairs as the bannisters are at head height as you go up. If you move any furniture (eg sofas so not all against one wall in living room), the floors filthy underneath. Cigarette butts from the previous guests on the patio outside. Also, they request in their book that you clean up a bit before leaving but the vacuum was full from previous uses, so you have to clear up others mess before your own…
