Oceanview Retreat - Steps to the Beach, Heated Pool, walk everywhere

From the moment we arrived, Oceanview Retreat exceeded every expectation. This property is not just “steps from the beach” the ocean breeze, the sound of waves, and direct access to the beach made each day just perfect. With two heated!!! pools and hot tub (perfect after a long day at the beach) and the beautiful grounds and koi pond there was always somewhere to play or relax The condo had a great spacious layout, comfortable furnishings and beds and the kitchen fully equipped — perfect for those days we wanted to eat in and plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance when we wanted to venture out!

The location was beautiful. Truly is steps from the beach.

There were a lot of broken things inside the unit. Seems that the owners have not visited in some time. One shower was completely broken, fireplace did not work, some fans and one TV did not operate correctly. The bunk beds really need the screws tightened, very wobbly.

It’s a nice property - nice pool and family hot tub. It is truely just a few steps to the beach and the wagon to take things to the beach was perfect. It’s also a short walk to a portion of the beach that has a playground on the sand.

It’s a bit of maze to get around but we figured it out. The grounds are pretty.

It was walking distance to the beach, the outdoor bbqs were in great condition and worked great, There was good parking available each day.

The room was filthy, dishes and cooking utensils had food on them and had to be washed before using, all the floor fans and years of sucked in debrief were grossly fuzzy dirty, there were old ant traps and bug debrief on the kitchen counter and in the bedroom closets, The 2nd bathroom had urine on the toilet and a broken toilet seat, an old air wick air freshener was sitting on the bathroom countered filthy dirty and unusable and forgotten. The room was very inadequately supplied with bath towels, kitchen towels, even paper towels were not supplied. Shampoo. Conditioner and body wash were missing from 2nd bathroom. The first time we wanted to run the dishwasher… there was not even one Dw soap. Just an empty container under the sink. The advertising of the room was EXTREMELY INCORRECT . The description said the condo came with: a hot tub in the condo, A barbecue in the condo, A desk, a washing machine and air conditioning for the whole condo.. NONE. of that was true !! When I asked the condo owner for a 20% refund because of the false advertised items and the extremely dirty room…all she offered was to have the cleaning person come out again. And to refund my cleaning deposit… later when I asked for $800 the 20% she offered 10%. I gave her. My reservation 10 months early along with full payment in advance as required…. This should have been a spectacular vacation… I was going to be able to work some and play a lot with my family. Her apparent careless business practices really made the first two days very rough, since everything needed to be cleaned. The third day we had no water. It was planned for the building but she didn’t let us know. I do NOT recommend this condo or doing business with “ D and Family”. That is how she signs all communications. I would never stay in any of her properties again. I have pictures to verify all of these claims and more. Patti Hoyt

We had a wonderful stay! Very pleasant apartments and decent amenities (pool and gym). The place is a 15-minute walk to downtown Oceanside and right next to the beach. Definitely recommend!

Excellent location- you can see the ocean from the balcony. The host was very communicative and helpful. It is quiet and the grounds of the complex look like a tropical paradise. We enjoyed our time there!

The property is located in a perfect spot, we could easily get places and the beach was so close. I could not ask for a better spot. The owner of the property has to be the nicest person and her willingness to make our stay great went above and beyond making us feel like we were not guest but more like family. I cannot thank the owner of this property enough and it shows by the way the property is taken care of.

Wonderful and spacious apartment with amazing pool and beautiful complex and right by the beach and tons of stuff to do! Could not have wished for a better stay! Very clean and easy check in and check out!
