まず、予約後に来る案内の文章がスマホで15,6ページもあるほどの長さで事細かにあれダメ、コレするな、などあまりに多くの但し書きが送られてきて、これだけで随分な不快感を持ちました。もっと快適に泊まりたかったのに。行ってみると私の部屋のベッドには誰かの服装が脱ぎ捨ててあり、とても使える状態ではありませんでした。腹いせに鍵をかって外出し、戻ったら別の人がロビーで待っていました。電話で問い合わせると、オーナーが部屋番号を間違えて割り振ったようでしたが、大量の注意書きを送りつけたこともあり、あまり簡単に許容する気になれませんでした。あと、部屋の床が傾いていた点、シャワー室にボディーソープがなかった点など、ホテルでないことによるデメリットを感じて仕方ありませんでした。これが一泊23000円で、日本人としてはあまりに高い気がしました。

Spotless rooms and facilities. No stains, odors, or odd smells. Convenient location near the train. Clear instructions for entry, checkout, and Wi-Fi access. Snacks and breakfast items were a plus. The other guests were friendly in it brief conversations.

The rental listing states in two places that an ID is required at check in, which to me means when you get bodily onsite. Other instructions say to send a photo of your ID ahead of time; this was my first time using this sort of stay, so I was wary about sending a stranger my ID digitally and asked what law required this action. I received a call from the property manager berating me for my questions, threatening to cancel my rental because he could tell what my character was like, and saying I was lying when I stated that I hadn't ever encountered this practice. There was a note regarding supplemental heat in the room, but we couldn't find any heater, just window AC unit. We used an extra comforter and were fine.
