Desert Lily - Room 1 with shared pool access

It was an adequate place to stay for my first visit. It's nice that it's close to the entrance to the park. Despite the rocky dirt road to reach the place, it is in a nice location.

Overal, it was not an impressive stay. On driving up, rang the doorbell as the code I was given was wrong. Thankfully, the cleaner was still there and he was able to show me where my room was, what the correct door code was, and what the wifi was. The room was standard. Outside of a broken light switch, and not being able to find the remote for the ceiling heater/ac, it served its purpose. I ended up using the plug in heater that was in the closet. I also wasn't a fan of the long rocky road up to the home. In a Prius, I made sure to drive slow enough to avoid the worst parts. The most disappointing thing was the lack of spa use. I reached out to the owners Friday night and heard back Saturday that there was a $75 extra charge to heat the jacuzzi for 4 hrs of use. Perhaps it was somewhere in the fine print (which I did not see), but to highlight the spa in all the photos is misleading, especially when it is a selling point for most.

The setting of the property is beautiful. The room was very clean and inviting. The layout of the room and common areas is very practical and easy to negotiate. Entrance was by keypad. The hosts were very quick to respond to questions via e-mail. Location suited us well, only 10 minutes to the Western entrance to Joshua Tree NP.

The only thing that was difficult was the unpaved road to the property, especially when arriving after dark. The dirt road is challenging to maneuver. Thankfully we had a small SUV which sat up a bit higher off the ground.
