convenient location, close to the beach and bus station

Location was great. Room was adequate. Was suitable for a little break

No wifi in the room. Told the person who was looking after us. Nothing sorted out. Lift was broken and we were on 6th floor. Lots of steps

The convenience of the beach and attractions. Everything we wanted or needed was a short walking distance which we enjoyed greatly.

Lack of amenities provided for the stay, such as toilet paper and no coffee/tea/sugar provided and miniature shower gel/shampoo which was a surprise to us. Secondly, beware of small bug like flies on the floor and bathroom which we assumed was due to warm weather. Thirdly, a free standing air conditioner, which was not bad for the weather but for extreme heat would not be enough. Lastly, room is only gets cleaned between stays and not during stay, which is something that surprised us.

The building let's it down,the lobby area dirty like a building site,only one lift working,pool area not very Appealing,lots of dirty apartments when you look at the block we were in very poor booking.com not showing you the dirty building it's in,wouldn't have booked it Especially at that price I payed.

The apartment itself has been renovated to a high standard. Our host, Susi was fantastic - highly responsive on WhatsApp and she met us within a few minutes of our arrival. The apartment was very clean, and has everything needed (even in December, we were grateful for the fan, as there is no aircon). Internet is very fast and reliable. The location is absolutely superb - going north, 10 mins walk to Puerto Colon (great beach + sunbeds €6 each per day and plentiful cheap restaurants for lunch). Going south, 10 mins to the strip, 20-30 mins easy wander down to Safari Centre. Close to the apartment, there are dozens of places to eat (Fiamma Italian, and The Brasserie steakhouse are both very close and excellent). It's 1 min walk to the bus station with no steps or kerbs - which makes arrival and departure very easy (line 40 bus is every 30 mins and only €3.70 to/from airport). We spent an afternoon in Santa Cruz, which is a direct bus (line 110) and was only €12 for return ticket.

Only possible negative comments regarding the apartment itself are quite trivial (but a little inconvenient) - it's missing a toilet roll holder and towel rails in the bathroom and kitchen area. It's needing a couple of extra pillows - there's only 1 each, and they're reaching end of life. Also, the water heater is in need of some maintenance (rusty water was leaking onto shelves below, rendering them unusable). With these addressed, this is a fantastic little apartment. I wasn't aware that many of the older hotels in the area had sold off their rooms to private owners. This apartment is in what used to be the Ponderosa Hotel - and the public areas are currently in a fairly poor condition. The reception, lift (there was only 1 operational in the entire block), stairs and corridors are in dire need of cleaning and maintenance (positively, the pool is perfectly serviceable). There was work ongoing in what (I think) used to be the old restaurant, so hopefully they'll eventually get to the rest of the block as well.
