The Jeti Mangrove - Ecolodge, Cottage, Restaurant & Kali Biru, Blue River

Das Essen war sehr gut. Die Lage ist sehr nahe zum Kali Biru. Der Manager spricht perfekt Englisch und ist freundlich.

Mooie locatie langs het water met uitzicht op de jungle aan de overkant. Het restaurant heeft best lekker eten voor een prima prijs. Je kunt gratis de kayaks gebruiken, maar er is veel stroming dus vraag het personeel wanneer het veilig is om te gaan en blijf aan de zijkant. Ze kunnen toers voor je regelen naar de Kali Biru (blauwe rivier) of evt. naar grotten en de jungle. Kali Biru is een mooie plek. De eigen badkamer heeft een warme douche. Er is de hele dag wifi en elektriciteit (het viel een paar keer voor 10-15 minuten uit). Verder is er airco.

De kamer/het huisje was niet echt schoon bij aankomst. De wastafel lekte, dit is niet opgelost in de twee dagen dat we er waren. Verder waren er veel muizen in de kamer, die 's nachts goed te horen waren, onder ons bed liepen en aan ons eten zaten. Verder ging de deur niet helemaal dicht.

- Scenic surroundings: Mayalibit Bay is truly beautiful and peaceful, despite occasional disruptions (boat traffic, fireworks, construction). - Meals: Food was tasty and reasonably priced at 50k per meal. - Private boat tour to the blue river: A highlight of our trip, offering privacy and a lovely experience, but not cheap. - Service efforts: Staff worked to accommodate requests and organized transportation efficiently, even on Christmas Day. - It was no problem to cut our trip short.

- Bungalow discomfort: Hot and poorly ventilated, with ineffective air conditioning. - Pollution: Waters were polluted, snorkeling was not a good experience. - Kayaking experience: Strong currents made exploring past the blue river unsafe and exhausting. Information on this was lacking. I do not recommend venturing further out with the kayak than past the mangroves or the village, the currents are really strong and dangerous. - Limited activities: Fewer things to do than expected; we ended up shortening our stay. - Language barrier: Staff spoke little English, making communication difficult, so you should bring a translation app. - "Ecolodge" mislabeling: No noticeable sustainability efforts despite the name. - Cultural promotion: Cultural displays felt more like tourist attractions without clear explanations. I would have liked some more information on the owners’ involvement with the Mentansan Foundation, supporting local education. While the homestay has potential, it’s suitable only for a brief visit but would benefit from improvements in sustainability and guest guidance.

Easy access made our exploration seamless. -> Delicious Welcome Meal: Upon arrival, we were treated to an exceptional meal. It was a fantastic way to start our stay. -> Attentive Staff: The staff took excellent care of all our basic needs and requests. They were attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. -> Private Kali Biru Guide: The property arranged a private guide and swimmer to accompany us on our swim to the Kali Biru exit. This added service ensured a safe and enjoyable experience. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to anyone!

Additionally, having limited access to water during the day was uncomfortable. -> Unclear Costs: The pricing for the Kali Biru trip was unclear, which can lead to unexpected expenses. It might be helpful to provide a clear breakdown of costs upfront. -> High Cost for Local Experience: While the private guide for the Kali Biru swim is a valuable service, the overall cost seemed high compared to organizing it locally. -> Inaccurate Listing Information: The mention of a hot spring bath on the website was misleading. By addressing these issues, the hosts can significantly enhance the guest experience and ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Nice small Homestay with very friendly and helpfull stuff. You can Rent a Kajak and go to the Blue River there . The people are so friendly. So get to Know a real authentical indonesian family .

Take a strong Moscito Protection with you. Ecspecially at the Blue River are a lot!!
