Curral D Avó Turismo Rural & SPA

Tout nous a plu : l’emplacement, dans un petit village isolé mais idéalement entouré de villes charmantes à découvrir, la maison elle-même, magnifique et décorée avec beaucoup de goût, et surtout l’accueil chaleureux de Maria et des personnes qui l’entourent. On s’y sent tout de suite bien, comme chez soi. Je recommande cet endroit plus qu’un peu , c’est une pépite à ne pas manquer !

The Curral D Avó is a beautiful boutique style hotel with a long history and.is set in a beautiful village location. It is a combination of traditional and modern. The room was large and spacious with very comfy beds and a brilliant shower. Maria, the owner could not have done more for us. This is a truly great place to stay and I would definitely stay again. Very highly recommended

Everything was perfect

We really enjoyed our stay and the excellent dinner and breakfast with local touch.

Just wonderful, been here almost for a week had to work in the area and this place met my needs more than I expected. The food is very good, restraunt level. Breakfast had exactly what I needed, fresh and healthy food in the morning to start off the day. And in the evening you can order from the menu. The place is very clean and cozy. And the owner is very welcoming and helpful no matter what you might need help with. Would stay here again. Probably one of top 10 best places I stayed in Portugal.

We didn’t actually stay for reasons listed below …

We strongly felt unable to stay at this property! Firstly, on arrival it was clearly locked up. After 10 minutes a girl across the street approached us and explained that the owner was away until the next day. 20 mins later she returned to our car with keys and wanted to let us enter the property. We were less than impressed as it appeared not to have been used for some time and was not in a good state. Being in a desperately rural location we were relying on booking a table there that evening but the girl told us the restaurant was closed (it’s Saturday!) She explained the nearest restaurant was 20 km away 😳 She then phoned the owner who couldn’t understand our situation. I asked for a refund. This has been our first problem on this road trip with a Booking.com property

Beautiful property located in a quiet rural village near Miranda de Douro. Family house renovated to include all comfort necessary. Charming host and amazing breakfast!

Breakfast was a bit late for us but understandable. The host explained that she had to go quite far to purchase fresh bread and the bakery doesn't open until 7:30. Perhaps, leaving an electric kettle with tea and instant coffee and a few biscuits would be a nice touch to tide over early risers. Otherwise best breakfast I had in the region!
