The Shopkeeper's Cottage ~ CHIC!

Everything! It was the most beautiful property with everything you could possibly want or need for a day, a week or more.

Nice area in town, quiet, had a stream in the back. All the amenities! Nice furniture and bathrooms. The host made it very comfy!

This place was beautifully decorated and had top end amenities like bath salts, candles, and coffee/tea assortments.

Nothing. We loved it and will be coming back every year. We were only there one night, but would definitely book a longer stay in the future.

Really cool old place in historic city.

Every little detail is mesmerizing. The pictures on here do it no justice. The minute you walk in, is as if you transported to a world of no stress. There is a calm, serene ambiance you’ll love! I cannot name everything because there is a limit on letters typed. The hostess, Rebecca, has put much care into every little piece of furniture, decoration and comfort. The bed was like butter. Very spacious compared to the pictures. The spa tub, the beautiful kitchen, the comfortable beds, the cozy living room, I love it all. There is a creek behind the property and the lulling of the water put me right to sleep. Just book it now! I don’t want to leave the cottage to venture into the little town. It was perfect in every way.

I cannot think of anything I did not like. The back door jams and you have to push or pull with all your strength to get it open, but it was not a bother at all. I really cannot complain about anything. Loved the place.

This property is gorgeous. We stayed 2 nights. I am a generally poor sleeper, particularly in an unfamiliar bed. My bed was SO cozy and comfortable that I slept soundly all night and didn't want to leave the bed in the morning! From the decor to the convenient location, from the tranquility to the comfort, this is an outstanding accommodation. I can't wait to return and bring friends!

It would be wonderful if there were more beds available. There were two of us this time, and the apartment could sleep 2 couples as it is, but it would be lovely to be able to accommodate another couple of singletons at least. The apartment is set up for entertaining more than four! I would love to use it to its fullest!

My family was impressed! Unique, all the way down to the toilets! I like the privacy of receiving key code entry through email or telephone call. It’s sweetly decorated & we were instantly comfy! We ate dinner at Rosa Cocina Mexican restaurant 4 minutes down the street. The food and atmosphere were awesome! What brought us to Amador City was the Black Chasm Cavern tour in the near by town of Volcano, CA. We wanted to do something different and interactive with the kids. We baked brownies while we took turns taking a jetted spa bath, a little rough sounding but I loved that about this imperfect perfect place! You could also pack some food and just relax in this authentic private get away. We’ll be back next summer /fall to do more walking and hiking around this beautiful area.

The master bedroom is adorable, but it definitely needs a king size bed. I hate to complain, because our stay was wonderful, but I tossed and turned all night. So, I either felt some energy from the house or the mattress was a little too stiff ;) if you like a firmer mattress you’re good to go 🫶🏻 ~Colleen
