Building was boarded up awaiting demo. I was charged 8 days before when the property has been that way over a month. No one cancelled my booking in advance. Booking.com was little help in getting a new place to stay, promised to call me back, never did. They eventually send a email which I told them I was unable to receive which said the property could not accommodate my reservation. Had to find new location on my own for a little more money UPDATE: after reservation was over the property send me an email that the building was not being demoed as the guard said but renovated with entry info for similar unit in another building on the property. Booking credited the price difference from new hotel to my account.

The apartment itself was nicely furnished and decorated. There was a good of choice for cooking pots and dishes. We appreciated the availability of the small appliances. Upon arrival we noticed that the pantry door was not functioning properly and were pleased that the host had it repaired expediately. The TV's were in good working condition with a good choice of channels as well as being easy to use. The bed was reasonably comfortable. There was plenty of closest space. It was nice to find a few supplies to get us started until we could get to a store.

The apartment was in a building that contained about a dozen apartment units. Our apartment appeared to be the only inhabitable unit in the building. The other units appeared to be gutted, some with boarded up windows and damaged doors, which was a similar description of the buildings around us. Access to our rental apartment was at the rear of the building via a walkway to an outdoor staircase. At night, this walkway was poorly lit and dark, between the designated parking area and the exterior stair case leading upstairs and into the apartment. This inadequare lighting situation caused us concern for our safety & security, so we mentioned it to our host. One of the motion lights started to function which improved the beginning walk on the walkway but the motion light on the tree closest to the stairway to our rental unit only activated when the wind rustled the trees. Flashlights became our guide. It was obvious that The Resort property, was at one time, a beautiful property. It is now far from that! The entrance way and all streets were filled with many pot holes, some deep & large. All activity buildings are not in use, some were boarded up. Activity areas including tennis courts, swimming pool, etc. were closed . Although some of the buildings had new windows and siding installed, there did not appear to be any further renovations taking place on-site during our almost two week stay at this Resort property. If we had seen a photo of the outside of the building & site as it was during our stay, when we reviewed this property online, we would not have rented it. Once all the on-site infrastructure rehabilitation & building renovations are completed, we believe this property will once again be suitable for vacationers.

The property was so cozy, it really felt like home. The entire apartment was clean and well kept. I love how the owner provides a lot of essential things!

The apartment complex is going through reconstruction, making it not very pleasing to look at. The owner does make you aware of this in the booking and it has no affect on the overall stay!
