B-Gu & Anne House Hongik Station

The location is great, close to Hongdae (just about less than 10 mins walk). There are also eateries & convenience stores just a stone throw away. There are 5 rooms with 2 big ones interconnected with curtains and 2 smaller ones (sleep 2 pax) & 1 more which is more for singles (the washer is in this room). There is a washer & dryer which is a plus for me as I can get my clothes washed up. We also can cook simple stuff like noodles and heat up food as there's a stove & microwave. The owner is also responsive when we report issues on the floor heater or needed more toiletries. Overall, I think it is great with family or a group of friends.

The only area we didn't like is the structure of the toilet (we have read from the previous review though just didn't expect it to be that high). It is unique and an experience for us but if you are traveling with elderly then I would not suggest this stay.

많은 인원이 사용하기에 좋다. 가까이에 식당이나 마트가 있어 편리하였다. 주택가여서 큰 소란이 없다.

작은 방 침대 하나는 푹 꺼져 불편했다. 반지하여서 구조 상 화장실이 불편하였으나 감수할만했다.

The area is awesome. Minutes away from Hongdae with lots of food and attractions.

Just the bathroom. It was very Hight. Suggestion: maybe adding a mounted grab bar on the side would help

이 숙소에 들어가기 위해서는 공동현관문과 실제로 묶게될 숙소의 현관문 2개의 패스코드가 필요한데 도착전에 부킹닷컴 메시지로 받을 수 있었다. 또한 우리 가족은 홍대부근에서 3박을 하고 중간에 제주도로 3박 4일 여행을 다녀와야 했기에 큰 캐리어 3개를 맡겼어야 했는데 호스트가 친절하게 짐을 맡아주었다. 그리고 홍대 상권과 아주 가까이 위치하고 있어서 쇼핑이나 식사를 하기에 아주 편리했다. To enter this accommodation, you need two passcodes: one for the main entrance and another for the entrance of the actual room you’ll be staying in. These codes were provided in a Booking.com message before arrival. Our family stayed near Hongdae for three nights and had a three-night, four-day trip to Jeju Island in the middle, so we needed to leave three large suitcases. The host kindly kept our luggage for us. It was also very convenient for shopping or dining because it is located very close to the Hongdae commercial area.

숙소에 대한 리뷰를 단순히 피상적으로 기록하는 것이 무의미하다는 생각이 듭니다. 여행자는 늘 호스트의 친절에 감동받곤 하지만, 숙소 선택의 기준은 단순한 환대가 아니라 더 근본적인 숙박 환경의 질에 있다고 봅니다. 이 숙소의 호스트는 우리 가족의 짐을 흔쾌히 맡아주었습니다. 분명 고마움은 있으나, 리뷰의 목적은 다른 여행자에게 객관적인 정보를 전달하는 데 있으므로, 개인적 호감과는 별개로 숙소의 실상을 이야기해볼 필요가 있어 사실을 기반으로 리뷰를 작성해봅니다. 20여 년간 영국에 거주하며 매년 여러 차례 가족 여행을 다녀왔고, 수많은 숙소에서 다양한 경험을 쌓아왔습니다. 숙소 선택의 실수가 아주 드물게 있었지만, 이번처럼 큰 실수는 처음인듯 합니다. 혹시 아카데미상 수상작 ‘기생충’을 기억하십니까. 영화 속 기택 가족의 반지하 생활을 직접 체험하고 싶으신 분이라면, 이 숙소가 그 기대를 충족시켜 줄 것입니다. 우리가 머문 곳은 창문의 절반만 지상에 드러난 반지하 구조로, 햇빛조차 제대로 들지 않는 곳에 여러 사람을 수용하는 형태였습니다. 독특하다고도 할 수 있지만, 불편함은 상당했습니다. 특히 화장실과 욕실은 120cm 이상의 키를 가진 사람은 바르게 서기조차 어려운 공간이었고, 고령자가 있는 가족은 높은 계단을 한 번에 오르는게 불가능해서 가족 누군가가 반드시 부축을 해줘야만 하는 구조입니다. 샤워나 소변을 서서 해결하는 것은 불가능했고, 이는 사진을 통해 더 쉽게 확인할 수 있습니다. 주방 역시 예외가 아니었습니다. 싱크대와 가스레인지의 높이는 172cm 여성의 가슴께에 맞춰져 있어, 사용이 무척이나 불편하고 위험했습니다. 에어컨에서 밤새 물이 떨어져 시트가 젖었는데, 이 또한 기생충에서 말하던 그 ‘기택의 냄새’를 직접 느끼게 해 줄 정도의 습기와 불쾌함을 안겨주었습니다. I believe it is meaningless to record a review of accommodation in a superficial manner. Travelers are often impressed by the host’s kindness, but I think the criteria for choosing accommodation lie not in simple hospitality but in the fundamental quality of the lodging environment. The host of this accommodation readily took care of our family’s luggage. While we are certainly grateful, the purpose of a review is to provide objective information to other travelers. Therefore, setting aside personal fondness, I find it necessary to share the reality of this accommodation based on facts. I have been living in the UK for over 20 years and have taken several family trips each year, gaining varied experiences in numerous lodgings. Mistakes in choosing accommodations have been very rare, but this case feels like the biggest mistake so far. Do you remember the Academy Award-winning film “Parasite”? Great location, close to everything and Hongik University station. A lot of rooms and space, great fit for us.

Low ceiling in the bathrooms, but it doesn’t bother us much.

First of all, Host of property was extremely nice and quick response all the time. - Location very convenience close to Yeonnam-dong and Hongik station exit 2,3 - Safety area even night time. - Many famous BBQ restaurant/Cafe & GS25 & Olive Young in front of property - They have big storage room to keep luggage before check-in or after check-out - Room so big can live for 10-14 persons with 2 toilets - They have universal plug in room - Kitchen have proper equipment, Refrigerator working well - Air condition in all bedrooms working well - Have big towel and small towel, with showel get and shampoo - Bedroom is good and bed is comfortable (soft mattress) - Have 2 big dining table and outlet plug everywhere - They have washing machine (we used drying with towel everyday :) ) and also have iron This property really suggestion for big group and price is reasonable (My opinion is very cheap if you check with all property around Hongdae area). we quite sure to reserve on next time we come back with big group or family. Toilet have big step to get in and low celing BUT shower and flush toilet have no problem, water volume so nice and hot water is working well also very very clean toilet.
