El Sho - Hotel orgánico

I booked the expensive room there specifically because I needed to REST and handle serious business without being studied, social, or under the pressure of others wanting me to entertain them. As BEAUTIFUL as the hotel was, I did not enjoy the unnecessary disrespect, or digital surveillance to manipulate conversations. Nothing personal.

Wonderful host, beautiful space. Really creative and fun. Close to everything.

Nothing the hotel had any control over - just be aware the Bucerias is a very, very noisy town at night.

Good place

Unique and lovely architecture. Atmosphere is extremely calm. Rooms are very well equipped and designed. Microwave and fridge. The communal kitchen was great as was the hammock in the central courtyard. Patti is awesome…

A little bit of a walk to the beach but not a real issue.

This is a very cute and unique boutique hotel with character and flavour that is often missed in new constructions. This place will be fantastic once the dream is completely realized. We liked and took advantage of the location by visiting nearby restaurants and shopping at a very good grocery store within walking distance. We used the kitchen available to all guests which was a convenience that really made a difference for our 4 week stay. Easy and close access to buses allowed day trips in to PV or other small towns if you wish. We did. The beach is 5 blocks away. The street has a slight increased gradient so you will have an uphill walk back at the end of the day. . .but not too difficult. (We are 67!) The near proximity to the major highway really wasn't an issue for us, but may be if you don't want any traffic noise at all. We enjoyed morning coffees in the lushly treed and nicely appointed courtyard. Patty is a supreme host and Adrian was available to help us out whenever we needed him. We usually stay at a hotel with a pool, but the fabulous beach made us not miss it. We were on holidays! Not very much to complain about here. It met our needs quite nicely.

The landlady is very nice and passionate about this place. It's a lovely building with lots of art by local artists.

The big downside is that the hotel is located very close to a main freeway into Puerto Vallarta. So there is basically traffic noise 24/7. Moreover, they do not have a reception service to help people check in and check out. And they are not easy to find. When our cab driver finally located the place, we were lucky that the guy who lives adjacent to the hotel and is a relative of the landlady, was making lunch in the kitchen and could open the locked entrance door for us because it was right next to the kitchen. We tried to call the hotel several times in advance (even the day before) and nobody ever took the phone or replied to our message...

The staff is extremely nice and helpfull. Adrian was always super helpfull if we had questions!
