Dunas do Alvor - Budget

Lovely staff, perfect location, clean apartment with good shower pressure. We loved the pool area with restaurants and bars around it.

Just a few minor points as feedback. On arrival at 5.30pm, reception was closed despite me sending confirmation of our arrival time. We’d had a long flight and trek from the airport so really just wanted to get checked in to begin our holiday. After about 20 minutes and sending messages to both WhatsApp numbers and on booking.com with no response, a lovely man who was doing maintenance asked if I needed help. I explained the situation and he also tried contacting someone with no reply. I said I’d go to the bathroom then wait by reception for someone to arrive. The bathrooms were locked so the gentleman took me around to the hostel in the same block and asked the reception if I could use their bathroom. The receptionist immediately asked if I was Samantha and to my relief had our keys waiting. He was such a friendly and enthusiastic guy, he helped my husband and son carry our luggage up to our room, chatting in perfect English all the way which made a fantastic impression after a shaky start. A brief email advising us to check in at the hostel would have been much appreciated The shower pressure was great but the shower head was very old and it would have benefited from a new shower head. The street noise can be quite loud at night. It didn’t bother us but might be worth bringing earplugs if it would bother you.

I loved it from the moment we arrived,staff we very welcoming and accodating.loads of bars around with excellent food and pints at a great price.swimming pool was lovely and the area was clean.it was a great location and a 5 -10 minute walk up too the main alvor area.loved the chill out bar,meeting new people and having a great time.apartments were spacious snd beds comfy.will defo be back.
