Guests highly rate the charming ambiance and frequently praise the spacious accommodations.
USSince there were mice droppings in the kitchen drawers, we did not touch anything in the kitchen. We contacted the host about the mice droppings and no water pressure in the master bathroom. We had difficulty with the A.C. and could not get any information on this. The host kept saying that a handyman would come to fix these issues but this never happened. The door code lock was difficult to use.

USThe aesthetic of the house
When we arrived to the property, the front door of the building was wide open and was a safety risk because we were not sure if someone was in the house or not. the temperature was well below 50 degrees in the house when we arrived
USIf you're wanting a charming, humble place to stay thats close to downtown D.C., you've found a good place. Morgan never left my questions unanswered both before and during our trip. Parking was easy enough to find as there's a one way street with parking on both sides to the right of the home and areas for parking just a few feet away from the entrance gate. It was very spacious even with our group of 5; we had 3 separate rooms and it never felt crowded. The WiFi was quick and easy to connect to even with our 6+ devices. The showers were very warm which was appreciated after walking around in the brisk 30s this time of year. The antiquated ambience was contrasted well with our modern appliances.
The downstair's common areas left much to be desired regarding privacy considering the absence of curtains in the kitchen, front door, and window near the fireplace. We did find evidence of a rodent such as droppings in the kitchen which is why cleanliness took a hit on my review-keep your food in the fridge. The master bath sink had some issues beginning the second night including: water pressure which reduced it to a trickle, a cloudy look, and the inability to change its very hot temperature. The downstairs half bath had a window boarded up with cardboard and duct tape. Also, be careful on the stairs; those last couple steps claimed 3 of our dignities during our stay.
USThe location was convenient to the metro rail.
The property is not as described. The host was difficult to deal with. The front porch was rotted wood and broken. There is no garden, the front yard seating area was infested with mosquitos. There was no hot water for two days. We had to continually email the host until this was fixed. A broken window in the downstairs bathroom was covered with cardboard and a bath towel. You do not have the entire home to yourself. There was a downstairs tenant that had the tv on very loud! The grill is unusable. The back door at the kitchen was locked and there was no key to unlock it; this is a fire hazard. We stayed there over four weeks ago, so we have had time to collect our thoughts about this property. Avoid this place!

BRLocation, proximity to the subway, comfort of the house and well-equipped kitchen.
USThe home was lovely and super cool! I love historic homes.
We could’ve used oven mitts because we cooked.
USThe house is very spacious and comfortable with lots of room for 6 people to spread out. All 3 bedrooms were comfortable with new mattresses and nice pillows. There are 3 bathrooms and 2 showers. Everything is well stocked with anything that you might need. A fully stocked kitchen that was great for cooking breakfast and dinner helped with keeping costs down. The house is in a lovely residential neighborhood that is a 5 minute walk to the metro. There are lots of cute local restaurants and bars within 5-10 minutes walking. Street parking was plentiful and convenient. As an extra touch the house was beautifully renovated keeping an eye on the historical details and adding nice decorative touches. I would definitely stay here for another large group visit to DC.
