Plum Tree Lodge Set in 2 acres of Private Land

Lovely secluded garden, looking across the rest of the 2 acres, which contains sheep, goats and rabbits, plus an abundance of birds and the owners property and garden. Andy was really lovely and very helpful. Messages were responded to in a timely manner!

The way previous guests had left it ie badly stained sofa (incl back cushions) 🤷

Location was beautiful

Lovely location with relaxing views out into the field watching the goats and 100's of rabbits. The hosts had thought of everything, plenty of cutlery, pans etc, stocked with all cleaning aids, towels, linen and hand-wash in both bathrooms. Plenty of instructions on how to recycle, mingle with the goats (tried this but was scared of getting their horns up my butt..lol) how to use the boiler. My hubby enjoyed the red wine (thank you). It would be good if there were some instructions on how to use the tv. Being in our 60's we are not tech savvy. The bed was comfortable.

It could do with a little tlc mainly in the living area. Sofas were quite stained. I am sorry to say that there was a bad smell that may have been dogs or something else, I couldn't work it out, but it was only in the living area. Despite the negative, we would stay again.

Easy to find. Private parking right outside. Set in its own lovely garden which was securely fenced for the dogs. The lodge was very clean and well equipped. A real home from home and warm and comfortable. The views were lovely and easy access to the areas around. Good Wi-Fi and tv channels. We had everything we needed and enjoyed every minute. We would definitely stay again!

Positives: The meadow view with goats (Tango and Cash), sheep, and rabbits was absolutely amazing. My daughters loved feeding them carrots – this was truly the highlight of our stay and made breakfasts on the patio unforgettable. Great outdoor space for the whole family, including our dog. The girls enjoyed running around and playing with bubbles. The new garden swing was a lovely touch, especially during the evenings. The lodge was well-equipped – we only needed to bring clothes and toiletries. Freshly laundered and ironed bedding, warm duvets, and plenty of towels. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Dressing table in the main bedroom The large fridge and full-size kitchen were very convenient. Tea, coffee, sugar, and bottled water were also provided. A thoughtful welcome note and complimentary prosecco added a special touch. Private, gated parking with plenty of outdoor space. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. Gas heating worked efficiently and warmed the space quickly. Excellent communication with the hosts throughout

Negatives: The property’s listing was misleading. It’s described as “set in 2 acres of private land,” but in reality, it sits at the end of the host’s back garden – not private at all. On the surface, the lodge appeared clean, but it lacked a deep clean. No fireplace, just a wood plank covering the area where it was supposed to be. Kitchen cleanliness was lacking – cutlery and glasses had oily fingerprints, and the kettle had old stains that couldn’t be cleaned. The sofa and breakfast area upholstery were stained, and we were uncomfortable sitting on them. The cooker wasn’t clean either – thankfully, we brought our air fryer. The carpet was filthy and smelled strongly of animals as soon as we walked in. The en-suite bathroom had an unpleasant musty odor. Several amenities listed (washing machine, kids’ play equipment, board games, luggage storage) were either missing or unusable. Storage was filled with old furniture, leaving no space for our belongings. WiFi was unreliable and disconnected frequently. Freeview didn’t work, so we were limited to YouTube. The BBQ was dirty and unusable. Garden furniture was nearly nonexistent, and there were holes in the lawn – our little one tripped and nearly sprained her ankle. Risty firepit. The area outside the gate was cluttered with rubbish, broken outbuildings, a tractor, and scrap material – none of which were shown in the listing. A fence to block this view would be advisable. During stormy weather, the lodge made loud creaking and vibrating noises. Gas bottles outside banged together, causing stress for both our child and puppy during the night. Sadly, we cut our stay short despite booking this for our daughter’s birthday getaway. We wouldn’t recommend this property to others fornus it was to many negatives

A lovely stay. Bunnies and lambs, a wonderful Easter stay! The garden around the caravan was very handy to have with the dogs. The caravan was great,felt big and luxurious. Great host.

Lovely relaxing location. Everything was provided that you need for a few days away. Nice outdoor space. Check in very easy.
