Plum Tree Lodge Set in 2 acres of Private Land

Situated in a peaceful and beautiful location, you couldn't ask for a better place for some R&R. Waking up to the paddock view watching the sheep grazing was just wonderful. Excellent, thoughtful hosts who didn't intrude in any way, yet very welcoming and friendly. The caravan had excellent facilities and we'll absolutely be coming back.

Unfortunately the ensuite off the main bedroom was not in use.

The siting/location description was misleading (set in 2 acres of private land). The property was located at the end of the host’s back garden and adjacent to neighbour’s extended gardens- certainly not private. The steps up to the entrance are steep and narrow. The green moss covering on the outer back wall made the property look uncared for. Inside the property at a glance it appeared clean. The glass dining table needed to be wiped of smears before use. The ratten placemats potentially harboured all sorts of bacteria. The settees were ‘grubby’ & stained; with cushions lacking filling. The cooker did not appear to be cleaned to a high standard. Upon opening the top oven/grill door a used dirty baking tray was seen. We had a cold meal. The small en-suite bathroom we didn’t use due to the urine/unclean smell that was trying to be masked by bathroom/toilet air fresheners. Towels were provided, just one each not a set. We did use the bigger bathroom, which still had a slight unclean smell masked again by fresheners. The washing machine listed in the description could not be found. The microwave is housed above head height, therefore making it unsafe to use, lifting hot food down. Private this is not, you’re overlooked by the hosts, the neighbours and the resident sheep, goats and close location of the cockerel. (Earplugs are provided in the bedroom drawer to block this out. This is at the back of a housing estate. This is a property I would not recommend. We contemplated driving out & trying to find somewhere else to stay, fatigue prevented us from doing this. We left the next morning cutting short our stay.
