The Pool House & The Colobus House, Diani Beach Calm Living Kenya

Staff was good.

It’s called pool house The pool is a 5 meter short pool The cleaning / circulating pump was not on for 24 hours - owner saved electricity and shout down during nights and days. Water was dirty. unhealthy in the pool Showers did not work properly. It barely come out some water, not a regular shower. So in total if you are looking for a pool house do not book this.

Owner Fiona was very friendly and easy to communicate with before and during our visit. The house is perfect for one family and the location is great without beeing expensive.

Fiona the host is a very nice, friendly and welcoming lady. She picked us up from the airport and dropped us off on our way back. The staff was very nice as well and they have a chef who's very good at what he does. We enjoyed his food so much. The place is very nice , clean , in a quiet environment and has a small private pool if you just want to chill at home, or the beach which is only a few meters walk. There is different restaurants around and the shopping center is not very far away.. 100% recommend this place.

The location was good; not far to the shops. Located adjacent to the beach. The house staff were lovely and very helpful. The small pool was nice. Staff would wash, dry and iron your clothes which was great.

No TV ! No safe ! No sofa ! Lack of room security - had to leave the room key outside ! I only left my room for short periods. Overall complex was gated which improved overall security. Lack of privacy - no window covering on one of the bedroom and kitchen windows. The owner using the apartment pool (yes she did ask; but how could a guest say no). My opinion - she should have known not to ask- it was extremely intrusive. Insects galore especially the huge bull ants - not sure how you control that part of nature - bio friendly pest control maybe. Bathroom shower and surrounds need to be regrouted - maybe ingrained black mould over time but otherwise clean. Internet was slow, not good for streaming, might just be an area problem since the connection was via a telephone line. This is an airbnb (3 apartments + owners apartment), The feeling was the owner constantly checking on you with lots of house rules not akin to a hotel stay. I felt it was over priced at around USD70 per night for what you got- but it would not be difficult to make some changes that would improve the overall experience and value.

Our host Fiona was very friendly and accommodating. She is a warm-hearted person and had lots of great tips and insider information for us. The location of the house is excellent and it is also equipped with loving details. There were more of everything than needed, whether water, towels or dishes. It's a perfect place to stay for a nice and relaxing time with family and friends in a safe area. I would highly recommend her place to anyone who wants vistit Diani Beach.
