Petit Soleil - Bed, Breakfast and Bar

This small hotel is run by young people who are very attentive and friendly. Rooms are large and have lots of add ons. The hotel is located close to the middle of SLO and is convenient walking distance even for us who were using a wheelchair. I was especially impressed and thankful for Dante who sent us a bottle of a very nice wine to make up for a very short delay in room availability.

Honestly the best hotel stay we’ve had. The staff was so welcoming and the hotel is very cozy. The bed was so comfortable and a nice clean bathroom. There’s hors d’oeuvres a drink and an excellent breakfast all included and free parking which made the stay extra special. We will 100% come back to stay.

We have visited often to SLO over the past 4-5 years and this is a gem compared to many other options. This was first time at Petit Soleil and it will not be our last! Happy hour was pleasant surprise and the breakfast lovely.

Absolutely Wonderful Stay! From start to finish, this hotel exceeded all expectations. The included breakfast was amazing—delicious, fresh, and a perfect way to start each day. We also loved the evening snacks and wine hour from 5–6pm, which added such a special touch. The staff truly made the experience unforgettable. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. A huge thank you to Ellie, Dante, and Julianne—you made us feel right at home. Our room was outstanding. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the bathroom products were top-notch—honestly, the best lotion I’ve ever used. Can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Lovely room, charming and quaint. I could stay all day inside the room. Great bathroom as well. Staff is very kind and hospitable and a great breakfast!

Location is off a Main Street but our room was very quiet.

Nice and cozy club hotel, very close to the town center. They have free parking, nice bar with fair prices. The breakfast was amazing and we liked the patio with a fire. The room is not very big, but it has nice design.

Only comment is to place AC in the leg area of the bed, to make it more comfy

We had an overall good stay, and the staff was friendly, but for the price point, we expected better value. The room felt a bit outdated (e.g., a leaking toilet) and lacked some basic amenities like a tea kettle or coffee machine, which are usually standard at this level. Additionally, noise from the room above—especially footsteps—was surprisingly noticeable and disrupted the quiet we were hoping for. The hotel has potential, but a few upgrades and more attention to detail would go a long way in justifying the rate compared to other options in the area.
