Host & Stay - Summerhill Court Lodges

The flat was a great location to enjoy Alnwick, the coast nearby and surrounding area for a few days, using public transport. (Bus stop 2 minutes away) The flat was quiet, with all you might need to self-cater. Also, though we didn’t see anyone physically for keys and so on, there was a clear feeling that if we needed anything, it could be organised. Thank you.

We’d read the other reviews beforehand, and it’s true that the flat would benefit from freshening up and updating. However, it’s clean, comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

We loved the privacy and quietness of the property as it stood back from the main road and the bushes in the garden made it very private. The accommodation was larger than expected and had everything we needed. The location was great as was central so could visit many places.

Only a minor niggle but smelt a little musty on arrival but soon sorted after leaving windows open. Maybe this could be done on a mire regular basis to solve the problem?

The cottage is very comfortable to be in nice little garden area outside to sit and drink or eat rest of the garden is very pleasant the host is extremely friendly and chatty the location to town is perfect also great location for drive outs to the various coastal points 👍👍👍

The garden was lovely and private and the accommodation was spacious. Everything we needed, even a washing machine and tumble drier. It was quiet and peaceful.

The property was very clean, but a little fusty & dated. Nothing a scented candle couldn't sort out

We loved the location and ease to get to Alnwick . The welcome pack was a lovely addition and very thoughtful. The lodge reminded me of childhood memories and staying with family . Spacious, comfortable and clean . Garden area was lovely to sit . Storm Floris stopped us going out , yet the flat was cosy and warm . So we relaxed instead .

Wee musty smell , which was easy to sort out with a little air. So not a dislike , just suggestion to leave windows open when cleaning and prepping the flat for guests . I aired every morning so it was just on first arriving. Yet you have to remember it is an old building , which is normal 🥰

* I opened the door and was hit by the darkness of the rooms (photos seem to be brightened) and a musty/mouldy smell (especially the armchairs and the couch in the living room, but also the flooring in general). After two days I got kind of used to the smell, but still it was not comfortable. * The bathroom could do with a renovation, everything worked, but the ventilation was very loud and looked like there haven‘t been changed a filter for a very long time. * Fridge and freezer very clean and well working, but also impressively loud. * Due to the green surroundings quite a lot of spider (to be expected), but the amount of cobwebs left for obviously quite some time, was appalling (I‘m really not very fine with spiders.). After having booked Lower Lodge in January I hadn‘t checked the comments again. Mistake! They were quite drastic. Also the comments and evaluations refer to two different Lodges (Upper and Lower Lodge). The Upper Lodge seems to be OK, according to the evaluations, but the Lower Lodge is not. But the combination these two different lodges leads to a higher score, at least for the Lower Lodge. I was gracious for the flowers though…

Location good for visiting Alnwick and surrounding places of interest. Useful welcome tray , milk and cold drink. Towels and bed linen clean. Plenty of space for two people. Parking outside.

Property was dark inside. Sofa and bed both dipped so we didn't find them very comfortable. Some kitchen items need replacing.

Great location with parking. Modern tv, dvd, cooker , fridge , washing machine and drier. Very clean and a lovely comfortable bed. The welcome pack was brilliant and it was great to find a parking disc for the town.I know they are only a £1 but it was very thoughtful.

Bathroom needs renovation. Hall floor is uneven and can be difficult to walk along . Sofas need replacing.

Terrible smell of damp and mould though out .. left 2 days early as to smelly , dated, depressing , dark and dank .
