Communication prior to my stay was excellent - in fact there was duplication of messages. Instructions were seemingly straightforward. Some issues raised upon arrival were dealt with promptly, resulting in the doorstep delivery of missing essentials (toilet roll, etc). There was afire extinguisher and sparse first aid kit in cupboards under the sink - but no signage on the doors to tell you they were there. There was a hairdryer, iron & board.

The property was difficult to find - down a lane with limited lighting, through a set of gates (with no signage) and down a driveway, so is not easily identified from the roadway. Upon arrival the code for the gate didn't seem to work - the instructions didn't tell you to press the arrow button after entering the code! I carried out an 'inspection' (as I always do) and reported to the hosts that there were a few maintenance issues (which they said they knew about); the external lighting above the door was ineffective to operate the code for the key box in the dark; the door lock was difficult to operate from inside - the key needed 'jiggling' to turn the lock; there was only 1 roll of toilet paper; there was no coffee (either instant or pods for the machine); the handle cover on the bedroom door was loose & nearly fell off when I opened it; the plinth under the oven (held on by velcro strips) fell off when I opened it and the door covering the fridge was loose and coming away when you opened it. The fridge was dirty around the seal with a collection of ice/water under the salad box. When leaving the property, either on foot or in a vehicle, the gate is not sensor operated - meaning you have to stop, leaving room for the inward opening gates, go to the gate and operate the keypad on the other side, through the gate! This was not identified in the instructions either. Adjusting the timing/temperature of the heating proved a challenge and I had to google instructions as there were none available. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, the stay was cut short and I left having stayed only 2 nights out of the booked 8. The response via WhatsApp advising I had checked out early and returned the keys to the box was responded to by a 'praying hands' emoji.

Spacious living areas and comfortable for family.

Had to pay an unexpected mandatory deposit of £250 at check-in, which wasn't disclosed during booking. This created an inconvenience as we hadn't budgeted for this additional upfront cost.

The location was good.

We have contacted the property vendors with the information below but they have not got back in touch with us. It is never very nice to write a poor review but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same experience we did. When we arrived there was a massive skip outside, and we were woken twice at 8:30 by the sound of a disc saw and work being carried out next door. It would have been nice to have been prewarned as it was off-putting to arrive to and hear during our stay. The flat itself was a nice size in a great location, it could have been lovely but it was dirty, bins had rubbish in them, the dishwasher was so disgusting we couldn't use it. The washing machine was broken. The mattresses are really, really, really bad. We couldn't use one shower because of the mould. I have never been on holiday and had to clean my accommodation at the start. Someone did come into the apartment without letting us know beforehand (which was really disconcerting) and sealed the mould which was nice however as this then had to dry so we didn't use this shower at all. There were not enough decent pans to use. We had to buy our own. The whole place smelt damp and dirty. All they need to do is give it a massive clean, replace the mattresses, equip the kitchen properly and fix the washing machine for a really nice stay. It was a shame this had not been done prior to renting the flat out.

The property was very tired , paint scuffs everywhere, kitchen units hanging off , kitchen trim side of dishwasher missing with screws showing (sharp) , missing panel above fridge , fridge door not attached to cupboard door so have to open two doors to get in fridge ! , mattress absolutely shocking with metal pushing up on mattress and you can feel it in bed , awful sleep , bad back due to condition of mattress , Needs changing asap ! I left two days early due to lack of sleep , The whole apartment needs a freshen up and repair carried out !

Could have been a little tidier.

good location for the city with excellent parking. Beautiful building. Great size TV, sofas comfy and kitchen well equipped. Good internet connection.

poor quality furniture and mattress, no door on ensuite which could easily be remedied with a curtain as felt a bit too open.
