A casa di Sara

At the end of a long trip, we were interested in visiting the Ostia Antica archeological park, and so we were very pleased to find this apartment that is just around the corner from a park entrance. To our delight, the old Borgo and Castle of Julius II, just across the street from the apartment building, were so quiet and beautiful! They have several excellent restaurants there as well. What is even more convenient, is that there is a grocery store on the ground floor of the apartment complex! Sara is an excellent host, and we enjoyed meeting her. She is extremely helpful and super-responsive when you need anything. The apartment itself is new, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Of course, Ostia Antica is relatively close to Fiumicino airport, so we just called a taxi with FreeNow when it was time to begin our journey home. (We didn't experience too much traffic, but the driver told us that sometimes traffic can be really heavy on the only road that leads to the airport, so give yourself plenty of time.) On one of our days there we walked to the local train station and rode for about 30 minutes on the suburban train to Rome. This train connects with line B of the Rome Metro, and you can use a regular Rome day pass on the train between Ostia and Rome, if that's most convenient for you. We really loved the apartment, we enjoyed Sara's hospitality, and we would strongly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing alternative to the hustle of Rome, especially if you have an interest in seeing the fascinating and extensive ruins of Rome's ancient port city.

Beautiful new apartment with lots of space; easy to get key on arrival; friendly host; great location near the entrance to Ostia Antica; supermarket just around the corner; good wifi and shower; full kitchen with espresso machine (pods provided); cute outdoor patio with rack to hang laundry if you've done some hand-wash; quiet neighborhood

Everything was great! No complaints.

Great & quiet place about as close as you can get to the Ostia Antica ruins as possible. Sara was a great host and gave some nice recommendations on local places to try out.
